anyone else wondering why there is only one sli connector?
it says the shader count and vantage score of 6000, i dont think that we know the rops but i would expect no difference of the gf100 cards

there is only 1 connector so it dose not interfere with the the higher end cards, its like the with the original g92, would any1 have benched a g80 if not for tri sli once the 8800 512MB was out

must be dirt cheap... and im very very sure 900mhz was NOT achieved with THAT heatsink
it looks like a copper core aluminum radial heatsink on top of two heatpipes, so extra fins on either side of the fan... when have you seen that before? it is interesting.

I agree with the sentiment of your first point, sometimes people take the speculation too far. some people are very certain about their speculation

to the second, it is called product differentiation. by removing that feature on a lower priced product, they can charge more for it in the higher priced product. like intel laser cutting the perfectly good cache of a lower priced cpu.

Id jump all over this card if it was atleast 1GB. Heres hoping theres a 1536MB model for not much more (~$25)

Many games are reach 800-900MB of usage at 1920x1200 with AA. Thats a slight problem...

lol, yeah it looks like a core2 heatsink with two extra heat pipes.

i'm asking about the sli connector because in the past all GTX branded products had the ability to run tri-sli, this is the first GTX product that has been crippled in this way. it really makes me wonder if this isn't the GTS455...

LOL who's going to consider that ... nvidia?

I think 1gb one's will come later ,when there will be price wars

Coming months would be really exciting ,nVidia vs ati

An HD5850 should probably be more of a suitable choice. It has the power, the ram, the oc room and the power efficiency.

455 would be a crazy name. the 465 name only exists because their schedule and product line is all fouled up. but we should not be surprised at all to see this new board called GTS 460. the chip and feature set is different enough to warrant the title downgrade.

how have you NOT seen it before?
this is what all lowend intel stock heatsinks look like... 100% the same... the c2d ones are tallest, but the celeron ones are just as thin as this, around 1.5-2cm...
    http://www.frostytech.com/articleima...tock_nofan.jpg

and interesting? how does this look interesting?
its the by far cheapest way to create a somewhat decent heatsink through aluminum extrusion and then bolting a copper core in it... i dont think that its very efficient... especially once you cover 70% of the heatsink in plastic lol...

What about power usage under full load? That's the figure I'd like to see.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

since it has 2x6pin we know its less than 225 and should be more than or close to 150

I could live with that. Probably make a good folding card then.

A bit disappointing if you look at it from this perspective, its TDP or power consumption is probably around GTX 285 levels and it should perform around the same too at roughly the same cost, the only big bonus is the DX11 support. But this time around it's more ATI's doing very well IMO if you only compare NVIDIA's Fermi line vs their previous series and the same for ATI. GTX 460 is a midrange card and in the past often the midrange card performed around the same levels as previous topend card and did very well still. This time it would have to be around HD 5850 levels in performance for it to be successful but it doesn't quite look like it. Looks like no huge price cuts are in sight in near future yet... crazy when you think for how long the HD 5850 and 5870 have been sold now for even above launch price!

I think GTX 470 is the only Fermi card that makes some sense taking into account all factors (performance, price, overclockability, power consumption etc).

yeah, i agree... the 470 is the only card that offers decent price perf...
and yes, ive said it before, its so weird isnt it? in the end what you buy with a GF100 card is dx11, and thats it...
the gtx480 is replacing the 295 at about the same performance and price and power consumption... the only advantage is no sli... but is that plus dx11 support worth 500$? hardly...

i wonder where things will go from here...
it seems 28nm is still far away... for the first time in history the graphics industry isnt just slowing time, but actually came to a complete halt... its temporary, but still...

disagree.. It prettymuch stood still between G80 and G200b/ RV770 . Now THAT was a long time waiting for a decent replacement!

Thos of us who bought an 8800GTX at launch had nowhere to go for 2 yrs!
