Impressive for an Asus - good work. Shame it's taking so much vcore though - good job your temps are under control - must be some serious cooling or that chip loves volts!

    @sergio:
MIIF - did I say that? It's almost like swearing now! I need to sell that thing and go on holiday with the money!

So I decided to look at newer BIOS's for the GA-EP45T-UD3LR since I was running F6b from Nov/2009. Wow, now there was F7, F8, F9 and F10. So I thought let's do F10....WRONG! Did not like settings I was using under F6b at all. Do then tried F9...same thing No matter what I tweaked under F9 or F10 could not boot without BIOS reverting to failsafe settings. Luckily when I tried F8 there were no issues at all. Scared me for a while there and thought I boinked my system .

Just another experience to give me more grey hairs! Oh well, back to work.

    Intresting read ...
Iam wondering what bioses are you all using for ep45-ud3p, i would aprecciate some feedback´s and if someone knows any major improvement over the f4 in performance or stability let me know
I use F4, because it gives me not so many troubles.

    445 stable

Having read Void Warranty's suggestion, I decided to try it on my board. Prior (was still getting used to the forum layout and neglected to have Hybrid enabled), I mentioned that I couldn't reach stability at 444. After setting the latch to 333, as I was already on 2.00B, stability was obtained. 450 passed super-pi once, then errored out between the 13th and 23rd iteration thereafter. 445, once the Advanced Timing Control were reset to Auto, proved stable at Standard and Turbo for 32M SuperPi and 4096 custom Orthos runs.

    445 Bios template:

    Code:

With my memory, this is about as far as I can go. Ambient is 28, RH of 30 (outside, the heat index was around 37 with RH of 60). CPU cooler used is Masscool's 8WA741.

I was bored today at work and screwed with my E7500 Work Setup in my sig. Not stable, but oh well it was fun and passed some time to get to quiting time!

Now I need to get cracking on my E8500 Home Setup and shoot for 8 or 8.5 x 500-525 FSB!

Yeah, was seeing which would happen first. Temps get too high, or me get too scared to pump more voltage.
    I lost
Was Idling at 12c and full load at 44c, I'm impressed with my temps so far.

I'll be bidding a fond farewell to the EP45 club as of today. I've now switched to my X58A-UD3R and 920 D0 which is already stable at 4.3GHz after a very short session of tweaking. I've enjoyed taking part in this thread and am grateful for all the help in this nice little sub-community on XS. I'll no doubt pop in at some points as I'll have a EP45-UD3P / USB3P and vmodded Extreme up for sale and it'd be good to see how others fare on them

    Gigabyte EX58A-UD3R F6 : i7 920 D0 4.4GHz 1.4v : 4Gb G.Skill ECO 6-8-6-24 1.54v
    Apogee XT & MCW30 : XSPC Dual 750 w/DDC+18W : RX120 & RX240 : Tygon tubing : Corsair HX 850
    2x750Gb 7200.12 RAID0 : 2x500Gb 7200.12 RAID1 : Samsung DVD-RW : LG BD-R
    Antec P182 with 5 x Noctua NF-P12 & 1 x Akasa Apache
    M-Audio Delta 1010 (Rack) : Behringer Truth B2031A
    XFX 5770 + 8600GTS (physx) : 2x Samsung Syncmaster 710n

    Lappy: Asus C90s & E7500 @3.17GHz w/ 4Gb RAM & top scoring 8600m GT DDR2

    Hey guys ,
I've placed 3'rd on the GOOC2010 final in Roumania ... I thougth to share with you my results (here in this thread were it all started) and wanted to say thanks for your support ... you have been great with me ... so thanks once again

    My SuperPI score:

    and WPrime 1024M:

I know this aint x58 tread but is the place where I wroted all about my participation in gooc (also I qualified on an EP45-Extreme mobo) and it seemed fair to me to post the results here too .
The limiting factor was the mobo (UD3R rev 1.0), because the power delivery can't climb I7 980 CPU to verry high frequencies (one of the cpu's we used did 6300 on UD9). I must say I'm verry pleased with what I managed and hope u like it.

    Cheers,

so i got the Gig UD3P's with some new team 1300's and now the REX with a bucnh of nice ddr3 so this should be interesting.

here is a shot of the load in action
