I will load up some games porlly BFBC2 first and see how well vs my previous build it feels.
Good idea, hmm I already have MW2 installed and AvP so I should also check how it feels compared to my c2d system.

    250bclk/115pci-e 1.4vtt 1.4vcore.
249 is a rock, then 250 craps the bed everytime QPI goes over 4ghz exactly. cant say im dissapointed in 250bclk on a hex

PS why do you guys say 1000khz is unstable? How are you testing it? Works great here.
Yeah, I found 1000kHz setting is most stable for me too.

    Nice BCLK there Splave!

Out of curiosity, how high did you get your 980X BCLK in the Classy? I will be setting up my rig over the weekend, can't wait

We didn't say it was unstable. We said it was less stable compared to lower switching frequency. Of course bumping the voltage up a little will stabilise overclocks using 1000khz that would have been stable using a lower switching frequency.

For me, as has been mirrored by a few others, found that with a fixed VCore that is on the brink of stability at a given CPU speed, the higher the PWM switching frequency set the quicker LinX fails.

How much faster were you guys able to run with PWM set at 1000khz compared to 250khz? And with which BIOS version?

RAID is supported on the Marvell 9128 SATA 6G chipset. In order to access the Marvell RAID configuration utility for SATA6G you must first enter the BIOS and set the SATA 6G option to 'AHCI'. Then you can save and exit the BIOS and during POST upon the reboot process press Ctrl+M to enter the Marvell RAID configuration utility.

Interesting, I will try those settings again with 250khz and see what happens.

    @eva, good looking out!

I installed the optional fan/heatsink, problem is the stupid fan never turns on. It can only be plugged in one way so I guess they sent me a dead fan. Oh well.

One things for sure people, as usual please inspect your board closely as many times these assembly lines talk to much to each other not paying attention to what they are doing. I tightened them just now and hopefully did not over tighten.

Can someone tell me if the provided NB fan/sink is needed?
now theres a thing, I checked my one and there are no screws

not sure whats going on here but my hold down plate is deffo held on with 4 rivetts

Where can I find the option to enable Dynamic vcore?
This option is described in the manual as the "CPU Voltage Control [Absolute (VID)]".

It appears that in the 0601 BIOS they give you the ability to make a SATA 6Gbps RAID 1 or 0 array in the Drive Expert tab of the main BIOS. Only have one SATA 6Gbps drive or I would test it out.

    Should clear up some confusion
