    The NB heatsink is a very very smooth and flat block that is connected to everything else, but it comes with two air coolers that you can install on top of it - the short passive one pre installed, and a bigger one to install if it will fit under your CPU cooler. You can also remove the fan off the larger block as well and just have a passive cooler 3x the size of the preinstalled one if you can fit it on, but the fan is silent.

    For water cooling, you need a water block that fits on top of the smooth base.
