Well, I'm in the process of moving my computer to a new case and have needed new bits and pieces to make the move easy.

I bought what I could from Sidewinder....great service, good prices, quick shipping. Would have ordered more but didn't carry everything I needed, unfortunately.

PPC's was the next stop. Three orders placed over two weeks. Every time, the order went out either the day it was placed or the next afternoon. The last one was put in this past Friday and it arrives tomorrow (Monday).

FrozenCPU.....much further away than PPC from me (NY to GA). But ordered a couple of things from them on Friday that PPC didn't have in stock, that Sidewinder did have but wouldn't ship until the 17th (much too long a wait), and miraculously, it too arrives tomorrow.

Jab-Tech....love the place, but selection is quite inferior compared to Sidewinder, PPC or Frozen. Prices are better, but choices are limited, unfortunately.

Say what you will......but in the half dozen orders I've made through PPC, each has arrived within 2-3 days and in excellent shape, exactly what I ordered, and very well packed...the last a quality Newegg should learn (putting all your parts on the bottom of an empty box and then filling it with peanuts is not how you packed properly).

Even before I started (UN)Designs I bought alot of stuff from PPC's. They always had everything in stock. The only problem is I'm west coast so shipping is always a little slower but that's not there fault.
I had a problem once with a stripped reservoir and Hank promptly took care of it! I still buy parts from them to this day.
They really do have alot of stuff, sometimes there's just too many choices, but I guess that's a good thing!

So that would be thursday....depending on what time you placed it...it sounds like you used paypal to make the purchase which is again not their fault it takes paypal a few days to come through. Today is monday. You have given them apoximately one day to process your order lol. I have bought quite a few items from there and always used a cc and it never took more than a few hours to process the order a day at the most. Usually if I order around opening they process and ship same day.

Edit: Should add even when there was an issue for whatever reason on an order I have always gotten a call on my cell to let me know what's up.

I wish I lived in GA as I have to pay tax when I order from PPC's. So for $$$$ orders 7% is ruff so Sidewinder, Petra, etc etc get the order. I might place my nxt PPC order just before I go back up to MD for a job and have it sent to my house up there on Gibson Island this way no tax..

A twist to the wrong fan issue.

    1) Ordered fans + LED strips
    2) Received correct LED strips + incorrect fans
    3) Emailed (back and forth) with PPCs customer service
    4) Ultimately told them I will send back the incorrect fans, then order the ones I want from elsewhere as PPCs showed them as out of stock
    5) I thought PPCs would give me a partial refund or credit towards my next order or something...
    6) Instead, I get an email saying they shipped out the correct fans. So now I'll end up with four of these things instead of just the two I need.

I would kill to pay 7% when I take my trips to FCPU. I get whacked 8% and even that is a "discount" for me because I live in a different county from them and I normally pay 8.75%.

Oddly enough, I haven't been back here for the longest time due to RL preventing me from having much time to spend on this former hobby on mine. (I'm back because one of my loops blew up). This thread immediately caught my attention as I logged on.

I remember voicing the same complaints in this thread a long long time ago to deaf ears. I've spent probably over 10k with PPC's while I was going through my WC'ing craze. It's sad to see that he still overcharges on shipping and still has shipping & CS issues. Just never shop from them again. It's what I did.

Well my order is on its way. A bit pricey on shipping for something that is only a couple hours away from me. Should be here monday and I will let everyone know the outcome.

Hi ranker - nice to see you!

I don't want to sound like a PPCs fan girl, but I just can't complain. Have also spent multiple "K"s with them, and can't complain at all. Shipping charges when using UPS seem in line with what I calculate myself. I'll never argue the fact that CS could be smoother. Dunno if that's partly due to their volume or what - but I would like to see that improved so we see less complaints here.

Received my order, everything was packed very well and arrived perfectly. Only issue was that the EK evga classified watreblock did not have the new cover with the grooves for quad sli so they shipped out the updated top the same day. I had a shipping notice within minutes of the email.

I typed too soon. Just opened up the packing on my EK MB block and come to find out that they sent me the regular classified one and not the 4x SLI version. Now I know why it had the wrong top on it. So one more round of shipping will be needed to sort this out. Oh the joy. I was about to order the (UN) Swaigna X brakets for my SSDs but I think I will hold off till I get back at this rate.

I just placed my 8th order with Performance-pcs since 2006 bringing my total business with them to over $3000. I just got my watercooling order this morning from them with another item missing from the shipment yet again. This is the 3rd order out of my 8 total that has arrived with a missing item. I just sent Hank an email to ship this missing item out today via UPS Overnight.

Even the shipment invoice has my item checked off. How the hell could you check off an item and not actually have it in the box? This is such a basic skill that a teenager could take care of. Not only is the shipment invoice initialed by the person who packaged the box but is also initialed by another person who verified the order.

It's a shame that Frozencpu and Sidewinders can't have the stock that Performance-pcs has because I would have spent the last 4 years ordering from both of them. If Hank doesn't come through with this with an overnight delivery, I'm done doing business with him even if it means paying slightly more and choosing from less stock at Frozencpu and Sidewinders.

I got a prompt call from Jennifer (shipping manager) at Performanc-pcs to tell me that they sent the missing item out through USPS Express overnight mail. I'm a bit more happy after hearing this but it shouldn't be happening at such a high frequency to start with. If they can fix their slightly high shipping costs and errors in shipping wrong items or forgetting to include them, then they will be fairly solid overall. Their selection and prices are great and have a nice website to navigate.

PPC's are hit an miss IMHO. I think that everyone makes mistakes once in a while... For me, my experience with them has been pretty good overall. I've had the messed up orders but I've also received extra parts at no charge... so it's a wash for me.

    . . .no!

I seem to have been really lucky with them, I've only had one little thing with them and that was a spare 20 pin connector I wanted. I ordered a male housing and got a female instead. It was something I could use down the road, so I wasn't really all that upset and I just ordered the male housing again with the next order which, turned out to be about 2 weeks later, so there really was no harm or foul.

You have to remember it is a warehouse were guys are seeing a ton of orders. He also probably has people working in the warehouse that aren't as knowledgeable about computer parts as most people here are. Mistakes will happen, even more so if you are ordering small parts like fittings and screws, and etc.

I would bet that if Gary decided to scale his business up to the size of PPC, you would probably see a raise in mistakes too.

It does suck, but it seems you were taken care of.

With a decent warehouse management system, this should basically never happen. Your order is transfered to the warehouse management system, and little lights or numbers go on along the shelves which indicate which (and/or how many) of a particular item should be packed. Knowledge of the items involved should be completely irrelevant. Order picking is an old problem that has many different solutions that reduce bad orders to a minimum.

Of course, this assumes they have a system like this in place, which is somewhat doubtful given the number of mistakes people are reporting!

EDIT: I should say, that my order from them last week arrived quickly and accurately, albeit with shipping cost on the label lower than what I was charged.

Something like that is really expensive to set up.

My guess is the warehouse is very analog seeing that the packing lists are written on. They list you see is probably the exact thing the worker gets to go pull your order.

They start at about $35k USD. For any decent size warehouse its pretty cheap... no idea what PPC's turnover/size is like, but if they are employing several people they probably should have something like this.

EDIT: Looking at this: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/artic...c/index2.shtml you might be right, too expensive for a small operation.
