Hey Rise! Great video, it really gave me incentive to do something like this. Up and crunching on an old AMD (2400+ ?) and my current dual core 1.86GHz BEAST... lol. I guess a little help is better than nothing right?

Dude, Rise, I completely forgot that you were casting SC2 matches... lol

You just picked up another subscriber and, after watching a couple casts, it looks like you'll be a nice addition to the stuff from HD and Husky that I've been watching.

Finally I'm able to post :-p

Already crunching with my Q6600 old quad and about to add another simple dual to the effort.
As I already sent you Rise, on youtube, I'm trying to get an article I wrote regarding WCG and XS to be published on the most popular news site in Israel (about 2 million readers per day), Crossing my fingers to get it published soon.

Thank you Rise for exposing this great community and cause.

P.S Rock on with your awesometry!

Looking at how many new people are responding to this thread, the video is a raging success. It took courage to make that. Cheers!

Total Annihilation? Really?! Come on, even Red Alert was better than that
(not taking a piss on Total Annihilation, I think it was a great game at the time I just think SC:BW is in a totally different league)

Applauding your courage on the vid, and here I am. Knew about folding@home for quite a while but didn't bother for some reason. Vid pushed me to try it.

Got validated last night, been crunching away ever since you posted that video. It must have taken lots of courage to put it up. I know I couldn't do it.

You've given me so much entertainment, and then all you ask in return is a bit of my CPU time? If I refused that, how could I ever sleep restfully again? I only feel bad because all I can offer is a modest E8400.

To all of those who wonder what Starcraft is, you could always watch couple of Rise's Awesometaries. For starters, I can provide an easy access to my favourite episode:

My vulture play is well described by the free electron model. Free roaming, seemingly random motion of individuals that when viewed as a whole is rather simple and predictable...

Wow im making physics based jokes about starcraft...is that like Geek^2 or something?

wow lots of fresh meat in this thread . you guys are lucky your accounts got activated within days. i remember when i joined XS, i had to wait weeks, maybe a few months to get activated. if you guys stick around long enough with the crunching, you'll get your account name color turned to blood red like me, Rise, and many others, as a badge of honor regardless of post count numbers.

Rise, i bow to you for for being one hell of a cruncher, recruiter, and commentator. i'll just give you a simple thank you for being a part of starcraft, XS, and crunching community.

i do cancer and diabetes research in a lab for a full time job, and i'm also a full time cruncher. on some of my spare time, the only game i ever played (computer or console) was original starcraft, and now i got in on SC2 beta. the computer i have SC2 installed on is a i3-530 based system, crunching at 100% load while i play SC2 and only using the onboard IGP. the game play is still smooth and i have no lags whatsoever, so i'm sure you guys can also crunch 100% while playing also.

all the new guys, and see you around XS forums and SC2. if any of you want to play or just befriend me lol, my account name is PandaWooper on SC2.

We need to know your identifier to do that, the second part of your account name. PandaWooper.?????. Also, what region are you on, US, EU or Asia? I believe you can only play with and befriend players on your own region, so EU peeps can't play with US folks and so on.

And I too am crunching 100% while playing. The only time I have to pause crunching is when I do live streams, seems like my computer can't handle both the stream and the number crunching at the same time and crashed when I tried to do both.

Rise, been following for you for over 2 years now my friend! I love all of your videos and I have watched every single one I believe! As soon as you made that charity video I started crunching on the team.

Been trying to work out some technical aspects of it, such as when do I crunch, and does crunching take my cpu up when I'm working on school work/gaming? But, I will be faithful with it!

Have a fantastic day, and I'll see you on the tube.
    God Bless you
