Hey Mad222, i think these are the sticks Duno has indeed. Very nice, looking forward to your results. I think these sticks were just made for watercoolers.

Titan7171, agreed but when it comes to Prime stability i think he was right about what he said. As long as it doesn't freeze/reboot bluescreen for daily use it's ok with me but it is nice to know the system can pass Prime for half an hour or so.

    Wow...that's nice water cooling
Titan7171, can we see some fishes in the tank next time ? that will make OC on water cooling become more vivid:

I run 4.2ghz........not prime stable though.........everyday stable........game stable........benchmark stable...........but not 750w every minute 100% fantasy load that could never happen with the things I do stable....... I only play games and edit/convert videos anyway so I dont care about prime
    30 minutes chilled water 4.3ghz?
I dun get used to Asus MBs..I think using slot#3&4 will be single channel
Very hard to take off the Corsair HS...IC will be easily come off. I tried b4 with A Team Memory & the result was 3 ICs came off & warrenty voided

edit: and since it was brought up i had ~3.8 prime stable on air w/ my 940, 3.9 for my 955c2 on air, 4.1 air & water obv. on my 965c3 1.52v
Man...always have trouble with big & tall memory HS

True.....I have done lots of testing with prime.....I just dont like the heat output and load......it doesnt seem like a real situation to me but its good to know where your systems 100% stability is.

    Yep thats the one Mad
1800+ Cas 6 with a bit more voltage.

Use 2 black memory slots in that Asus board, latest bios tuned for X6 and hypers
Do not try to open its heatsink, you will ended up with an expensive black pcb with holes in it

I will test Nforce 980a to run SLIonAMD

So, what you're saying is your overclock isn't really stable at all and you're willing to accept errors in whatever comes out of your cpu. Guess as long as you're willing to take that risk, great. Personally, I want my OC to be as stable as stock.....no less.

Show me 4.2-4.3 on water, Prime stable please?

Btw, my 940 did 3850 and my 955 C2 did 4000 both Prime stable so i don't think Andi64 's estimation is too far off.
ehem.... my 965 c3 is prime stable at 4.2 ghz on air buddy so yeh ........

although i do turn it down to 4050ghz to play crysis bc2 metro 33 and all my games all day everyday just so i dont fry my cpu to soon by having it maxed out to much as 4050 takes 1.475 volts and 4200 is 1.575 to make it stable ^^, so i prefer using 1.475 volts for 24/7 use!

Well, I think Titan was trying to make a point that everyone has their own preference. Passing tortue tests doesn't necessarily = Stable. Same thing happens to Intel as well. Everybody has diff. value system. So ...take it easy!

Ok Im gonna do this once....

The only error I get is when I run prime, system runs fine the rest of the time......heat is the issue nothing else . with enough cold and enough volts you can prime at way higher clocks than you could before without the cold......does that make your system stable? Do you prime in the winter?.....or do you prime in the summer with the window open and the shade up so the sun hits the case to make sure you get every possible scenario that could cause prime to fail?

In addition what makes you think its the cpu that gets the error? Maybe its the NB heating up or the powersupply suddenly for a second drops low on the 12v rail? or a faulty mobo?

but....can we get off the subject of prime?? this is a broken record, every time theres a new cpu release the same dam question pops up "is it prime stable" Im sure theres a thread with the same arguments somewhere on this site if anybody wants to relive it...........this is "extreme systems" not "Extreme prime stable systems"

If you want your cpu prime stable then do it if not then dont..........but dont try to knock other peoples preferences.

Not all cpu's are the same, maybe you got a better one? I can prime at 4.2ghz but I have to keep the load temps under 40-45c any igher and I get an error in prime. but thats not realistic because I cant always keep my load temp in that area...so I just say it not prime stable and run it like that.

64bit is hard on the cpu and BFBC2 is also killing my cpu. If I play BFBC2 32bit I can do 4.2ghz, .if I do BFBC2 64bit its is a no go,4ghz max

And believe there will be many more instances when you lose stability, even in small things like www browsing you will get some weird error that you would not get on stock.
I Understand from where you people go, but guy earlier who was talking about not getting TOO excited bout the clocks was right.
And this comment about xtremesystems was silly.systems can be xtreme in many different ways, moviemans farm is extremely big and stable for one ;-).
And besides, guy WAS talking bout stable clocks, so he is not dowplaying 3d bench stable or pi stable os ss shot stable ;-).
However for people that use pc`s as a workstation ,stability is a major concern (xtremeeeely important).
And prime isnt even a power virus, its application to compute te Pi number.

I don't remember if this was answered, is there a way to get the 16.5 multiplie working on all coresr? Maybe with K10Stat...

I would be nice, mostly for the 1035T wich has a lower multiplier and maybe it will be limited by the bus on some motherboards.

However for people that use pc`s as a workstation ,stability is a major concern (xtremeeeely important).
And prime isnt even a power virus, its application to compute te Pi number.
My testing says differently, I dont get any small errors on anything......if this happens to you try better cooling or lower overclock Change subject to 1055T

You could be at borderline stability, and exceeding some temperature starts to make it unstable, that would explain why your oc is not stable with prime and BC2.
Youre on water tho, and the guy was just saying that not every C3 overclocks STABLE to 4ghz on AIR.
As to my stability its rock solid at 3.55 and 3d stable at 3.8 ,but i dont like my games hangin from time to time ;-).

Did anyone with Thuban tried to change multi with k10stat above stock ? Theres a slight possibility it would work ;-)

    We're forgetting about undervolt.

How much vcore can be lowered to be stable at 2.8-3.2Ghz?
