Hello,
I just installed probe II is that program buggy? It's showing me a lot warnings about voltages going a super low.
example DRAM bus = 1.65v then a warning showed up because was 0.00v , that can't be true? in everest home the voltages don't change at all but in probe 2 I get a lot warnings and most are for undervoltage! does anyone use that app or it's useless?
They're basically all the same.
You probably have a hotter running CPU than the other guy does, it doesn't mean something is wrong with your TRUE. Some just run much hotter than others.
Yes, Asus Probe is buggy as hell. Always giving errors of too high or too low voltage. I've seen my vcore = 200v etc. Just use everest and CPU-Z.
Thanks a lot for the response CryptiK!!!
i been experimenting with llc off and i can use less volts
i got watercoolin gear just waitin to be installed

Is anyone else annoyed by the limited range of temperature options in the fan control menu?
I use the thermal probes to monitor the temperate of the fluid in my cooling loop, and have the fans plugged into the "OPT_FAN" headers, so I can have the board automatically control the fan voltage according to the temperature of the cooling fluid. However, the current BIOS setting system only allows the fans to run at 12V when the probes read a minimum of 60C.
The fluid temp never goes above 28C, so the fans are stuck at just above 5V under load if I want to use fan control.
A more flexible range of options would be useful, like being able to set the temperature range to 25C-35C, having the fans run at 12V when fluid is at 35C for example, and at 5V when the temperature is 25C and below.
Is any one try a Coolermaster V10 on R2E ?

I have ram 1600 set with xmp profile to 1604 , how do I lock the ram so I can increase my bclk from 160 to 165?
when I do that now my ram goes to 1654! I want to lock them so doesn't increase. I have corsair 12 gb 1600 1.65v
Also how to make windows sees my OC? I read something about cpu id max value or something but can't see to find that option in this board.
Does anyone know?
Good day all
After reading through 150+ pages trying to find my answer, I decided I just rather post my question:
So I upgraded from an Intel DX58SO to the Rampage II Extreme the other day. Still trying to get used to the bios, there are plenty more options in terms of settings(volts etc).
Now i have 3x2GB 2000Mhz Team Xtreem ram, but I havent been able to get it to run at 2000Mhz even using the XMP profile or Auto boost (cant remember the exact name).
I there any out there using this ram at its rated speed? Or what settings would I need to change in order to get the ram to run at its rated speed?

Appologies for double post.
Was chatting to another person with 2000Mhz ram and they also cant get past 1900Mhz. Hmmm suggestions?

I dont have the same kit as you but I got DDR3-2000 MHz+ 32M stable never tried for full stability as DDR3-1600MHz 6-6-6-X is almost as good bandwidth wise but with lower Vtt required.
DDR3-1965 MHz 7-8-7-20 1T was as far as I went for stability testing. That required 1.344 Vtt. Depends on your CPU IMC as to what Vtt is required for higher speeds. The board has no apparent issues with higher ram speeds.
Those are very decent timings at that speed. So the vtt is the main setting? Cause I was worried about the 4000Mhz uncore "limit" on the X58 that many people struggle to get past. Any other voltages that should be raised in order to get the system to boot @ 2000Mhz ?
@Cryptik, thanks for the help and could you possibly post your bios settings to get there?
On a side note has anyone modified their NB cooler for air as I get the feeling this would also help with stability and possibly a higher Bclk? ie Used an aftermarket cooler such as a thermalright or made their own? Had search through some of the other threads but seems the pictures have expired.

I recently bought R2E RNA and without sound card, i only got board nothing else. Lately i bought SupremFX-II audio card , pluged it into black slot (Supreme FX-II is lightining blue so the card should work) and trying to install drivers and i I'm getting this error "audio driver files do not support your computer hardware"
I have win7 x64 (I tryed and @ vista x32, XP x32), i used the latest drivers from asus site, the only thing that might be problem is that this supremeFX-II is from rampage formula board but i think it should work on rampage II extreme to??? in bios is audio enabled i tryed in bios AC97 and HD audio but i still get same error again, I really don't know what anymore to do?? is maybe sth with board wrong or is maybe somewhere trick in moterboard Jumpers????? plizz any suggestion
Totally depends on your CPU and ram. If your ram can do DDR3-2000, it basically just comes down to your CPU IMC. Some take significantly more Vtt than others for higher ram speed / uncore stability.
Just did some quick tests, at DDR3-2000 & DDR3-2100 8-8-8-24 1T. For simplicity, all ram timing settings set to auto except primary timings and B2B Cas delay.
HCI Memtest 180% + @ DDR3-2000 8-8-8-24 1T @ 1.627v | B2B = 4 | 4000 MHz Uncore @ 1.31 Vtt
Everest at DDR3-2100 8-8-8-24 1T @ 1.627v | B2B = 4 | 4200 MHz uncore @ 1.39 Vtt
Could be the card is for a different board but it could be driver issue. I remember something about people having issues sometimes with W764, but I use same OS with no issues with card that came with R2E. Have you tried drivers for Rampage Formula to see if that works?

Well I think it's time to buy a new power supply. my well truseted SilverStone Strider 800w of almost 5 years has finally died. I noticed the pst year on the Rampage it has run warmer then it has ever since my Core 2 Quad and even a jiuce hungry Pentium D at 4.26GHz.
So can I get some input on a good strong unit not too expensive but as close to power and performance as the SilverStone active PFC 12v quad rails or a dual or trireail with good strong amps. Is Quad Rail 12v really as big a deal now days w/ stronger amp 12v duals of combined clean power? I'd prefer queit, internal inverted 120mm fan, active PFC, modular cabling if possable but not a must and 800~1000W or whatever sounds necesarly so for a Quad core i7 at 4.305GHz, single overclocked ASUS GTX260, with plans for GTX dual GPU or 2nd GTX260, drop in PCI-E audio, 6 HDD in multi RAID plus add ons.
Has anybody done voltage or amps draw test to see what kind of juice this mobo and a OC'd 920/930 to 4.2+ suck out of the wall or use from PSU?
Thankx in advance!

I have an old Enermax from the day when 500W was bit stuff (2005) and it is still going strong, it is what I just dumped in my rig right now to get up and going but it didnthave the 8pin ATX 12v but was SLI ready and I had to just reduce the OC bk to auto for CPU but RAM still 1600. I am impresed w/ how they are built inside after opening to clean. It looks nice & solid like the SilverStone It too was also a Quad rail and I see a newer version of 1000W in a 5 12V rail and dual fan (120+80). Anybody using these today to comment on as to how they do under pressure? It's cool to find a 5yo PSU firing up my i7 rig. Of course to keep from burning this out too quick it's running 4 HDD RAID 0+1 (external PWR) and single GTX for now till I get new one.
I heard good about Corsair but never got to use one yet. I had good luck with OCZ in the days of big 600W days as well as several Enermax big boys & 2 Antec w/ fan controller heareders to time in volting (the OCZ model did that too but via little screws in back). I must say, I love ASUS for good onboard surge protection. When my OCZ blew out, it went out with a bang & I was sure my then AMD X2 4400+ went w/ it but wow, it fired right back up with my back up power (A8N32-SLI Premium). This one went out with a little quietly and barely a little smell of burn out.
You don't overclock and not expect something to blow up. It isnt the 1st, and it wont be the last.
