What voltage do you need to run your 965 C3's LinX stable?

So far I need 1.475v for the cores and 1.35v for the NB to achieve LinX stability with the cores OC-ed at 4GHz(18.5*216MHz), NB@2.6GHz(12*216MHz), RAM @1.73GHz CL8 8-8-24 1T:

    I have SuperTalent OC 2x2GB DDR3-1600 CL9 9-9-27 2T 1.65v which can do 1.8GHz CL7 7-7-21 1T @1.9v

    I'm using Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with 2xCM120mm 2000RPM 19dBA 72cFM fans:

Cele, since you have the same mainboard like mine can you tell me what settings(voltages, ACC) are you using?

    P.S. Pozdrav od Makedonija

It goes like crap, I'm not happy anymore because I need more investing and there is terrible fan availability, the best fan I can buy is Scythe S-flex 1200rpm... And I tried for last few days to enter 1900+ CL6 32M club but no success, so I will probably tomorrow close computer case and try cpu stress and 24/7 stuff

I'm waiting for 6 cores & still working on PI WR.
Unfortunately, unable to solve the IMC cold bug problem
Some of my best chips died after LN2; just like intel 32nm...can you believe that !!!
That's great to hear man (about changing your habits ), I love to see whole package from benching when results are great as yours

I'm LN2 noob so I don't know much about that, that cold bug thing, my 965 chip is super crap under LN2, after hitting 5.8ghz with 1.55V chip stops scaling, 6.0 with 1.60V and it hits the wall, up to 1.90V not a single mhz increase So I have to find good chip, and I'm waiting for good pot, my friend have some custom made cheap pot, and that's it man, waiting for Thuban or Zosma also

    Greetings neighbor! My 24/7 voltage is 1.450V for 4050mhz and 2700 1.350V, memory at 1800 6-6-6-18 1.70V

    225*18=4050 1.325v + 0.125V
    225*12=2700 1.100 + 0.250V
    225*8=1800 1.65V + 0.05V

But I must say I'm not stress stable guy, if it works fine with everything you use but crash in stress test, so what, who cares, one or two hours of stress is less important then every day use so you find your values that sutes you best in 24/7

For LinX, that's about the right volt.
I would suggest to work on the IMC instead of the CPU Vcore

Umm....the cold bug things need to be solved. The new C3 with "N" CPU PCB doesn't like anything higher than 1.875v
LN2 pot for AMD, I like the "Dual Wall Evaporator" the most. For me, nothing could be compared with that pot which would get you to the lowest Temp like -190c. with less than 1 & a half litre of LN2 in a few mins.
Hey, ask Aaron to see if he can give you a good price for that pot, man! It's worthy !

HaHah....Flankerp, work harder on air cooling & your dream will come ture
BTW, what thermal paste you guys are using for air cooling ???
I'm using the GC2 & it works pretty well. It's good to use for about a month
Umm...I want to try the one Cele suggested

MAD: really, i tweaked days and days and with hard work i got 4030MHz stable as maximum. Think, a bit problem is my batch 0942EPMW...I know about 2 guys, who has this batch (Lastviking and Izallica had one) and my was the best from this 3. Lastviking hit max 3950 stable with normal ambients. O.C, validation is not problem , up 4400 MHz its easy, than more harder

    Concerning the topic :

I had the same issue and have been reading a lot of reviews .
Bottom line is that it's best to take a cooler with a big base for AM3 such as :
    Xigmatek Thor's hammer S126384
    or
    Scythe mugen-II

Since the first one comes without fan (i have 120mm's enough myself) and is easier to install i'm going for the hammer .

Those pairs are pretty stable but couldn't get to low CL
    1600 C7 & 1800 C8 won't be a problem
2100 C9 on AMD ???!!! Flankerp, too greedy

Yes, the hammer's a good choice, you don't need to take the stock mounts off.

There's a 1090T under there, anyone got LinX 20 loops at more than 3.6GHz yet?

No, the board isn't playing nice with non standard voltages and can't decide if Vid is 1.3 or 1.475.

Might pull out a Crosshair III tomorrow and see if I can get 2GHz RAM working on it!

initialised, are you having problems with voltages? i ran prime95 blend at 3.8 with 1.475v and everything was good. i think it would have been okay with 1.425v but i decided to run mine at 1.475 considering turbo. the voltage fluctuations you see is a result of the cpu dynamically changing voltages per clock speeds either nominal, powered down or turbo. the voltage you had set in bios is for all cores on full load, turbo +0.1v and CnQ -0.15v

As i wrote in my sig i find the AM2/3 mounting system of the Xig to be very poorly implemented. The sheer force required to make it lock is scary to say the least
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart
    CPU: AMD X3 720BE@ 3,4Ghz
Cooler: Xigmatek S1283(Terrible mounting system for AM2/3)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte 790FXT-UD5P(F4) RAM: 2x 2GB OCZ DDR3 1600Mhz Gold 8-8-8-24
    GPU:HD5850 1GB
    PSU: Seasonic M12D 750W Case: Coolermaster HAF932(aka Dusty )

Like I said, whatever I set in BIOS I get either 1.475 or 1.3. Board is MA790XTA UD4 F3f BIOS, think I've gotten round this now.

The Xig is really tight, a bugger to fit/remove but temps not breaking 35C according to SpeedFan and CoreTemp.

On a more positive note it broke 20k in Cine R10 with 8-8-8-24 @ 1800MHz and Crosshair IV is on the cards.

    Yeah, right...

"Where to Buy 3Rsystem's Iceage 120 Boss II Heatsink?

Unfortunately it's one of the best heatsinks you cannot buy. This heatsink design has apparently been OEM'd by EKL as the Alpenföhn Nordwand Rev. B heatsink for €49.90 EUR. Spire have a similar model called the TherMax Eclipse SP984B1 for $48USD / €32 EUR. Note that neither cooler uses the same fan as on the 3Rsys model. "
