    2 x 5870 CF only 29fps in WoW

So, this time it's been even more funny here, my rig

    Intel Core i7 960 @ 4GHz
    3 x 2GB Kingston HyperX 1333MHz 7-7-7-20
    2 x Sapphire Vapor-X 5870 in CF with 10.3
    Intel X25-M 160G G2

No overheating issue at all. Why the banana can't I get just above 50fps like the others running a single card?

    ^^^ useless response jared.

Sniper, the problem is WOW not Crossfire. It's an old game and can run on any single card maxed out...why not just disable Crossfire for your WOW play?

When I got a 5850 and i5 660 for my girlfriend she could only get like 27fps in Dalaran. Many people told me the CPU was too slow, the gfx card was not powerful enough. Some ppl even claimed to have 50+ fps in Dalaran. So I have just spent like $2000 to try how to get that 50+ fps. I failed again. Can someone please tell me what to do?

1440x900 windowed everything max (including shadows) i get 60 fps (vsync) in dalaran, specs in sig

    put

    SET processAffinityMask "240"
    SET gxApi "d3d9ex"
    SET gxTextureCacheSize "512"

    in your config.wtf

actually you can probably play a bit with the cachesize, should be anywhere between 512 & 1024

Quit playn Warcraft, that would solve ALL the low fps issues.... Or, find a RPG that is actually coded decently..... Problem is, that game is made to be played on OLD hardware too, thats how the developer did it to milk $$$ outa you poor Warcraft people....

The answer is what they told you sadly, its a poorly programmed engine, it runs like crap on new hardware. Crossfire and SLI take notable peformance penalties, in addition YOUR Dalaran clearly has more people in it than perhaps another servers version. Most likely this is going to be as good as it gets because of your server pop; network traffic and poorly coded engine.

empty your config.ini or use the repair tool in WoW, your having other issues with the game hense why everyone is named UNKNOWN, this was a bug with some drivers and network connections. use the repair tool and reset all your settings. Also with CF/SLI do not run it in windowed mode, you have to run it in fullscreen for it to get the best performance on CF/SLI settings.

If you are good at WoW you can probably notice that my character got crap gear, which means i'm not really into it. The point is not about playing this game, but to beat the 19x12 max settings. Imagine the feeling of spending $2000 able to handle crysis warhead but unable to conquer a fossil game. Others are enjoying the procedure of benchmarks but I can't even handle such a stupid game lol

Thanks but these doesn't help at all in my case

That UNKNOWN is only because of newly log'ed on with some network latency so it takes some time for the names to appear. This has no effect on fps.

Window mode does not affect my fps at all. Resolution doesn't either. Only Shadow Quality affects seriously.

Tried to repair once but I'll just try to repair and reset the hell again.

Just confirmed neither disabling CF nor full repair could improve a single frame per second.

It's just been strange that some other players on the same server claim to get over 50 fps. I can't understand that. If there is anyone who can get 50+ fps on this forum and also plays on EU could you please pm me and make a lvl 1 char on Shattered Hand, and I'll open a portal to Dalaran for you to take a screenshot

    3 things on wow performance

    1) its vary dependent on the servers when they have high load no1 will get high FPS, and its also latency dependent (but that dosnt seam to your problem as u have 0 latency)

    2) WOW is coded like crap, it dose not scale linearly, it favors strange things like it used to work better clock for clock for 65nm core2 chips than the 45nm, and the gpu performance changes all the time with their being little difference from a high end and a midrange gpu until they add optimization for that specific card.

    3) 29fps nominally means that u have level of detail or reduce input lag enabled, both of them are bad to have enabled and the reduce input lag setting adds lag (go figure)

isn't there a shadow setting that also rapes ATi cards? Sorry if it's been posted but I remember reading that on these forums not too long ago.

My brother had a problem like this. The cause was one of his addons, gearscore? It dropped him from 40s to 10s. The problem is that it checks everyone around you for gear and it's all client-side before you actually target someone. The more people there are the worse it hurts.

A really easy way to see if it's gearscore is to look at your fps in krasus landing and then walk into dal and look at the difference. If it drops like a rock, there's a 99% chance it's gearscore.

A KILLER NIC will get you 10 fps guaranteed. http://www.zam.com/video.html?video=165 (Game spout -->) With the Killer NIC, ping times on both computers were comparable: generally in the 90ms to 120ms range. Without the Killer NIC, the XP machine lagged a little bit more, with pings ranging from 100ms to 125ms. However, while ping times were relatively similar, the frame rate got a big boost with the Killer NIC, jumping from an average FPS of 45 on the XP machine without the Killer NIC to 55 with it. It seems that World of Warcraft puts out a pretty heavy network burden and the Killer NIC does a great job of handling it(/quote).Also you need 12 gb of memory, another x25 and that game will be conquered.Try to make a crossfire profile also.

do you have "reduce input lag" enabled?

    Yes.

GTX 480 provides better performance in a game that is 6 YEARS OLD.

And yet cant manage to get ahead of ATIs lower priced cards in a game that JUST came out:

Jared your a just a nvidia fan boy and anytime you can defame ati you will lol.

Sung, go to CCC (catalyst control center) and change all settings to performance, See if that increases fps, I mean every setting should be on performance, if you dont know what that setting is for, google it and find out what setting is for performance, I bet this would fix your problem. And use AA and AF settings through game options, see if that helps.

Use GPU-Z and monitor the load on the cards when playing wow. My 5870 sits at 30% load showing 40ish FPS in Dalaran. So I concluded it's not the GPU per say, it must be drivers or the game itself.
