I've checked the blackplate, is secure. I'll do some more testing, if not solve the problem, I'll end up replacing the other cooler.
Because I've installed four times the cooler, and the problem still persists. The problem is whether the CPU (I don't know) or the cooler.
What do you think?

Hows the contact look when you remove the cooler?
Got pics?
Photos I don't have, but I will provide.
After I read the manual cooler with calm, I saw that I installed a piece called "rubber inlay" along with the backplate, this one:
This "rubber" is installed only with the socket 775, perhaps to get over it, the problem may be the temperature of the processor, because without this "rubber inlay" sink would have more contact with the processor, correct?

How are you going to corrupt the board bios by removing a rubber grommet? You need to shut the system down then remove power via unplugging the cord to the psu or switching off the unit in the back. Then remove your inlay piece. LOL
Figured I should make a contribution since I just got myself a 920 D0.
3910A250
Stable at 3.72GHz, 177x21, HT always on, stock vcore (cpuz reads 1.28v under load)
Max temps across cores 69-74C.
This is fine for me, not interested in 4GHz.![]()

When the processor was with the high temps (50~55ºC idle clock stock), I updated the BIOS thinking that would solve the problem, but to no avail. Then I want to go back to the BIOS version of the original P6T Dlx (0804) through the Asus Update and could not. That was when I managed to update the program AFUDOS, and from there system did not call more.

Lot of people here just need a low voltage to get to 4.0Ghz mark but mine requires a lot more (ie 1.33 to be stable at 4.0Ghz). At first I thought my chip sucks so I went to buy another D0 and got it 4.0Ghz stable at 1.2 but since I couldn't even reach 4.2Ghz stable with it, I think the decision to keep my old one is a good choice. Changing from air cool to watercool is a huge improvement as well since I only got it to 4.0Ghz with the TRUE/MegaShadow but now I can run at 4.5Ghz LinX stable with my new WC setup.

4.2Ghz with water cooling:
Best I can get so far:

This is what i got.
I did a run of 20 minutes on prime and on linX and it passed. I need to test lower vcore and qpi. I noticed that i only got the system stable giving the PLL 1.92v .
So basically i have:
19x200
Mems @ 8-8-8-24, 1604Mhz @ 1.64v
vCore @ 1.27200v
QPI @ 1.28250v
PLL @ 1.92v
Now i want to try if i can lower the qpi voltage... lets see.
And a snapshot ( badly taken ) of the system

Really nice chip!
Have you tried going further with HT off?

Cooling = Corsair H50 w/ a couple Noctuas exhausting
1.325v BIOS LLC level 1 = ~ 1.295v idle/load
4.3 GHz HT off

Nice -n7- best 930 I've seen so far. Earliest batch I've seen too. Any results with HT on?
I simply can't push my chip any higher because of cooling limitations. I can't believe how hot they get even with water cooling below the 4.5GHz markFair enough I needed a TRUE for my Q9650 @ 4.3GHz but I virtually need the same standard of cooling for below 4GHz with my 920.

It's true, the i7 runs way hotter than Core 2 Quad counter part especially when you have Turbo and HT on. When I had my MegaShadow I was only able to push to 4.0Ghz with 20 LinX pass but at 4.2Ghz after 5 pass it rocket through the roof with 85C and I couldn't run 20 pass without error. But after dipping it under water 4.5Ghz 20 passes and temp are still below the 85C, I know I can push more but I haven't quiet to play around with it yet. Get a WC setup for your i7 if you wanna push more.![]()
