and is realDX10.1 rebranding -
One of the so-called new models is known as the GeForce GT 320. This adapter boasts 72 processing cores, 1GB of VRAM with a 128-bit interface and a memory clock of 780 MHz. The GPU runs at 540 MHz and the shader frequency is set at 1302 MHz. Furthermore, the device comes equipped with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs.
The second in the line is the GeForce GT 340 graphics card, which is actually a renamed GT 240. This adapter has 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1700 MHz and a memory interface of 128 bits. In addition, the card has the GPU designed with a clock frequency of 550 MHz and a shader clock of 1340 MHz. Furthermore, the device comes with 96 processing cores, as well as HDMI, DVI and D-Sub outputs.
The third card introduced by the company is the GeForce GT 330. This model comes in multiple versions, each differentiated from the others through its number of processing cores, its memory interface, its amount of VRAM and clock speeds. The GT 330 has either 1GB or 2GB of VRAM and an interface of 128 bits, 192 bits or 256 bits. The models can also have either 96 or 112 cores, along with a GPU frequency of 500-550MHz, a memory clock of 500-800MHz and the shader running at 1250-1340MHz

Yeah I know it was more of a joke really. I am probably just going to end up with an ATi to be honest I usually go for nvidia first but this is just becoming straight up stupid. Only reason I am waiting is because BC2 isnt out yet and that is the only real reason I want a new card.

Based on precendent set by Crysis Warhead, I'm quite sure every game this year will play well on a 8800GT.
That is until *somebody* produces another "8800GT" type product (5770 is close.. but).
HD58xx (and especially Fermi) owners are not going to makeup significant share of the market for a long time.![]()

I want to play devils advocate and gun down the fact you were somewhat warping words. They said "no doubt NVIDIA will be aiming the performance of the model more around the HD 5870 area though" not that it will compete with the 5870. They are making a blatent ( and retarded ) assumption on their part. It would make no sense to put it at 5850 prices if it can trade blows with the 5870. It would be insanity given the cost involved with this chip. They would turn a very small profit at 300 if any ( possibly even selling at a loss? hell the GTX 260 costed ironically around 260 USD in the first few months and every indication points to GF100 being more expensive to produce; coupled with the late coming to the party, i think it would be retarded to price it at 299 unless it happens to be underwhelming and they have no choice )
The only remotely logical point of pricing a faster card at a lower price would be to restore customer confidence but I'd think at this point they'd be more concerend with share holder confidence and making up for lost time (delays / technical speed bumps ). Making a profit worth their while launching a near 3 billion transistor gpu ( I assume the 470 isn't a unit disabled 480 unlike previous cards so perhaps its cost won't be so astronomical ) at 299 just doesn't compute... Hell I'd love to be wrong and see the 470 launch at 299 AND match / beat the 5870 but it just sounds too good to be true and too illogical. I also can't ignore the fact that the past has shown when Nvidia has a performance lead, they ask customers to pay for it.

God people need to stop reporting about the same site. Do you not see they are the only ones with it posted? Hmmm lets think why they are doing that. They are going to be dishing all these pre orders they cannot fill. Give up people just give up. Wait for a month then we will really know the price.

hm 480 has really good cooler and i see that memory on 6870 is "upgradable"
Edit: Regarding when these cards are REALLY going to be available btw.
And thusly, all the Nvibots wept long into the night, only the sounds of their own wailing there to console them.
I only wish I'd woken up earlier to hear this news. All suspicions were right, and suddenly the "unclean ATI fanboyszzz" prevail.
In all seriousness though, now having read yet more, this is pretty pathetic. Nvidia's incompetence at making a decent card, with a decent power envelope, in a decent timeframe is unbelievable.
And to think I used to (in the GeForce 4 -> 8800 series days) call myself a die-hard Nvidia fanboy.![]()
At this point, if they can even release a high-leakage power monster that gets 20% better performance than an efficient ATI part I'll be amazed. Oh, and if it doesn't cost $1000.

I am with you. This has just gotten outrageously stupid. Nvidia needs to pull their heads out there @ss and actually do their jobs instead of talking crap. Cause right now ATi looks a lot better than they do, and Nvidia's only response is about how amazing this card is going to be. Yet there is basically nothing to show.
This is just straight up DUMB.

FYI to everyone: nVidia isn't FORCING you to wait. Not like you're stuck on this rollercoaster and being taken for a ride..
I'm sure despite all the pessimism here, Fermi will have great performance. But, no news on midrange. And looks like even single GTX470 will have greater power demand than HD5870. Personally I'm more interested in 100-120W range
IMHO ANY nVidia card is better than AMD, because of the PhysX BS. Thank goodness for the hack though. Almost bought HD5850+GT220 several times.. close to ideal.
Not too fond of having to spend extra $80-100 on 2nd video card just to run PhysX games on high quality. Alternative is single nVidia GTX2xx with lower performance...![]()
