Thats what i dont understand - ive read the gtl ref stuff and I am still confused on how to set it up properly. If i up my cpu term then my cpu ref and mch ref should be changed as well...?

You will probably have to re-dial in the MCH Ref yes.. Atleast when ever I touched my CPU Term and Ref I always had to kind of bounce around the MCH ref a little again to get it happy with the change... Here is a cheat sheet thanks to radaja, that helped me when I was first really messing with my setup.

    Hello, I'm at 467 x 9 with a Q9650, 4x2gb g.skill trident PC2-9600, UD3P rev 1.1 ...

everything on normal except mch core to 1.32 V, 1.26 V FSB on ...

I sudden reboots ... no blue screen, I did the RAM test from bios and win (400% in the past 4 memtest from 800) with no problems everything is OK, stress with prime95 blend for 2 hours without a problem ... all'iprovviso no stress and nothing else then restarts ... !

but how can ... ?? you say? What can be ... Now I put everything to default and see if I have the same problems ... acnhe may be a software problem??

    thanks

Sounds like you have not stressed long enough. Run small ftt's for 12 hours, if it fails, it's most likely vcore or Term. Run blend for 12 hours, if it fails, it's most likely MCH or ram.

So your going to look at the row that says, 1.32 and hit the middle value for that row.

    vtt 1.32 0.806 / 0.821 / 0.836 \ 0.861 \ 0.876

So you want to start in the middle at the .836 and see if it's stable or not. If it isn't then hit the value to the left or right of that one and see if it's stable and so on.. There is no given value that we can tell you that your, motherboard will be happy with you have to feel out those values and see which one your, motherboard likes..

I would say what ever your CPU is happy with , go with as long as it isn't above say 1.35.. you can go higher but people get scared after a certain amount so I would think 1.35 should be safe.. Mine is set to 1.40 or .42 and it's fine and has been for awhile....

Mine won't run the speeds I'm at now without that voltage on the vtt, every CPU and chipset and any chip made is different a little..

Depends on what revision you have. I have 1.1 and I liked the F9 alot, but I'm using F10e right now.

Don't use F10e it locks into your BIOS. In fact can someone tell me how to unlock it. I knew at one time but have forgot.
Yeah F9 was great for me.

F10 does not lock in, just F10e.

Hey all, had a quick question if I may. This board comes highly recommended for quads. I'm running a QX9650 and am in need of a new mb. I've currently got a dfi lt x48 board that is dieing and looking for something new. I was able to get the chip to 3.6 easy on that board with only bumping up the fsb to 400 and vcore slightly to 1.26. Getting much further on that board was about impossible and I ended up settling for 3.6 for stability. After reading the reviews for the ep45-ud3p, I am seriously considerring this board as a replacement. My goal, for now, would be to run the chip at 4.0 (400x10) on air for 24/7 use (eventually more when I get closer to upgrade time). Is this an easily accomplished goal for this mb and cpu combo? I also have 8gb of ddr2 at 1066 (5,5,5,15) running smooth on my current setup (long story short, ended up with an extra 4gb, so threw them in way after I was working on the OC for this setup). Is this board picky about memory type? Any help or thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

The QX9650 doesn't clock as well as the Q9650. and i cant imagine that the dfi doesn't do 400FSB (as you say you want to run 400x10). nearly every bord including the G31 and G33 will clock to 400FSB....

DFI boards are always hard to take in hands already clearly/highly been said every where ^^
...scratching my teeth on P45 DK T2RS+ lol (maybe you could help me MrDucky?) I think you missed something in the bios Deviant1

What I think about the UD3 : the best board to go both 24/7 or benching rig
...easiest clocker I had with great reactions ...always reboot after fail !! no need to reset bios or even cut off the PSU.
Deviders work fine on DDR2 ones to push ram frequencies

But a bit dissapointed about how the FSB scales : stuck @580 (stable) --> 610 max with lot of pain xD

Euh! mine is dead now 'cus of bad insulation under SS -_-

You have to change more than just vcore when raising FSB. That's why you only got 3.6.
The Gigabyte is a great board for OC'ing though.

sorry guys, i was probably trying to keep my post above a bit short while getting in the details. As for the DFI, I had it at 400 fsb. I was running 400x9 at 1.26 (stock setting was 1.24) for over a year. I definitely tried leaving it at 400 and change the multiplier to 10 while raising the vcore, nb and slight bump in sb. When the board was new, I was able to get it to boot into windows and run at 400x10, but couldnt keep it stable on prime (also tried many other combinations to get speed up, unsuccessfully). I definitely read up on and changed many of the settings on the board, I just didnt go into depth explaining that on the first post. The board has been constantly deteorating and I can only keep it, currently, at 333x9 (stock) to keep it running. I have tried a thousand variations in the last month trying to get this thing stable at other settings. I dropped the fsb and multiplier to a basic setting and worked my way up. anything over 333 and it becomes a wreck. So anyway, this board was one of three refurbs that DFI has supplied me with and I'm tired of it. I would really like a decent board that I can use my qx9650 to some of its potential since i have it. Nothing too wrong with 3.6, but would enjoy playing with it at 4.0 and then wreaking havoc on the chip before I upgrade in a few years. I was just checking to see if 4.0 is pretty easy to obtain and run 24/7 with this board (and then to have some fun with in a year or two). Although I'm not looking to bench, i use the crap out of it for gaming, a couple of the games more cpu intensive than gpu. Running a gtx 280 currently and plan on getting the 5970 in a few months (provided my cpu isn't the bottleneck, then might get 5870). Thanks again for any advice.
