    - Windows Vista Sp1 32 bit = hangs when i run 3dmark or any 3d games, even in Facebook.
    - Windows 7 32 bit = no longer hangs in facebook but still hangs when i play any games that has 3D.
    - Windows 7 64 bit 7600 build = same with windows 7 32 bit.

    These things happen everytime i unlock it. but m not having any problems running in a single core. I also tried playing with the voltages but it didnt do anything that would help. anyone here knows what the problem could be?
    BTW, here's my specs:

    You can try following:

    -raise your cpu vid up to 1.40v (1.35v -> 1.40v )
    -raise your cpu-nb vid up to 1.30v (1.17v -> 1.30v )
    -lower your nb multi from 10 to 9 or 8 (2000 -> 1800 -> 1600 ) and after that also ht multi to follow nb frequency
    -lower your ram divider (800 -> 667 )
    -try other ACC values, if you use AUTO try other from -12 to +12 on all cores or per core
    -see if newer bios is avaible for your mbo
    -and last, try lower cpu multi for second core in AOD (13.5 -> 13.0 -> 12.5 etc ) if it helps you can create startup profile

    It might be worth stripping your system to the bare minimum components & seeing if that makes a difference. If i saw those symptoms under normal circumstances I'd suspect the PSU not being able to deliver. Anyway, I wouldn't give up & wouldn't say the CPU was at fault until I'd eliminated all other possibilities. Best of luck & hope it works out for you.

    Your second core is not fully stable or biostar bios is not the best one for unlocking, with your description of problems it looks like running windows XP is the most stable without sound driver (3D works?), probably cpu can't handle irq assignment with two cores enabled, do you have onboard sound or external pci / pci-e sound card? If you use onboard sound you can disable it in bios and borrow pci sound card from a friend or someone and than test your configuration again, if it works fine under XP than you can buy sound card and stick with most stable XP or if two cores is a must have (no htpc and gpu accelerated playback) you can sell your Sempron and buy regular X2 Athon II and problem solved

    Prime 95 is simply not very reliable for stress-testing modern CPUs.

    Hi Everyone

    Got myself a sempron 140 BATCH: 0937FFI from Microcenter. Sucessfully unlocked it using an Asus Crosshair 3 mobo, BIOS Ver 1003. Thing to note, it failed to unlock with the default bios it shipped with - Ver 0703. Thought this info would be useful to someone as the previous one i got - BATCH 0932BPMW(??i already forgot..grr) failed.
    Now, to overclock

    It is bios / ACC related problem and there is nothing you can do except for waiting the new bios version to arrive, if you have first release update it to P1.10, it is not so big problem as hitting reset button after power on which still shows up on some Asrock mobo's

    Here's my chip:

    Processor: Sempron 140
    Stepping: BL-C2
    Batch: 0948FPMW
    Cooling - CPU: mini watercooler Tt Bigwater 760i (pump @ 7V)
    Motherboard: ASUS M4A78T-E
    Stability tests:

    I'm really satisfied, ~ 840MHz OC at ~ 0.1V undervolt Memories are 4x1GB cheapo Corsair XMS DDR3-1333 C9 hence crappy speed/timings.

    I picked up a 0939 (had to! miss the 939 days), and it unlocked perfectly. The chip isn't stable at all in the GD70 though...even at stock settings.

    I managed to get it up to 3.9 on the stock heatsink. It was for a low end build I gave to my dad. He has it now...so no more testing/screenshots :\

    I could unlock sempron 140 processor and its prime,occt,linx stable on stock.Actually I could easily overclock it to 3.7GHZ @1.475V.
    I could actually get to 3.8 but requires > 1.5V . And my cpu temps are rather good at 45 degrees
    cpu-z validation : CPU-Z Validator 3.1

    One issue is, if I enable cnq my system just freezes when it tries to lower clock speed. Same behaviour at stock and overclocked. What do you guys think, problem with bios(790XT-UD4P) or processor?
    cnq works ok without unlock.

    What kind of weird stepping is this on Sempron 140 NAEIC AE 0942CFM
    Does anybody know something about that stepping?

    I ordered a Sempron 140, it will come on Monday.

    The first ones were all CAEEC, now they are NAEIC, I don't know what is the difference between them, but if you can unlock it and oc it, who cares about the difference Give us some feedback when you receive it
