Fudzilla is writing this about Nvidia? I did not see that comingAll of the talk of yields seems to be in some ways nothing more than a smoke screen to shine the light off of the current situation to stall sales by promising something that most consumers are likely going to be unable to buy. The moles claim you will not need a pair of 3D glasses to watch this shake out in the next few weeks.

So, is anyone getting a firm over Fermi?
From what I have read and hints that have been dropped, this is potentially going to be one amazing GPU.
Performance is likely to be ~20-25% faster than HD 5870... but the Q3 part (aka the Daddy), is going to be competitive with the HD5970.
nVidia have hit the proverbial nail on the head with this one, think of it as more of a G80 than a FX.
Perhaps rather than release a GPU which was DirectX compatible, they wanted to release something which was DirectX 11 capable
Ignore "Le Fud"
They are speaking half truths (shame that Charlie's Semi Accurate did not post that story as in truth it is Semi Accurate). In all honesty I cannot see tha Quadro 6GB part being released to consumers (unless someone does a "M.A.R.R.S" which WAS a rebadged Quadro Card). However the 1.5GB and 3GB parts are likely.

Stop looking at the walls, look out the window
Whether or not the card is a success, you have to hand it to nVIDIA.
This card has caused the most drama in the history of computing, i'm also very impressed with the secrecy surrounding this graphics card.
This really is some grade A marketing.
Personally, i have to buy it as my 280 GTX is blowing up and i refuse to go ATI as i had a X800XT P.E on pre-order for 8 months, then being told it's discontinued..
Sounds like a silly reason to Avoid ATI. I did most of my life but they actually do some decent cards.
I just hope fermi doesn't get delayed again. If so it's big trouble.
being loyal to a manufacturer is retarded..only you loseand as Zera said John...if fermi isnt a lot faster then the 5870 to almost 5970 speeds then its pretty much fail this round..i mean if 5870 is only say 10-20% slower..then the 5870 refresh will probably fill that gap(being as 5870s at 1ghz fill that gap i cant see ati releasing a refresh without 1ghz core's..atleast 950 at the very least) so overall ati has 5-6months of winning..then releases a refresh more then likely at a price thats more affordable making nvidia drop prices and lose money on their cards...just seems like nvidia failed this go round....it happens im sure they will have a refresh of this card that will fix some of the issues...same thing ati went through with r600..looked good on paper..pretty much was a flop however the arch was good enough to get amd/ati to where they are now..which is in the lead..
Depends if this:
... doesn't cost way more than 20-25 percent more energy or Dollars/Euro/whatever. I will wait and see
Or something in between. Not as bad as an FX but not as astonishing as G80 either. Solid performance like G200.
All in all I feel rather confident that my expectations are fulfilled: we get the exact same scenario as before: G300 is faster than RV870 by a good amount, but also hotter and more expensive.
What does this remind me of? RV770 and G200 of course, but this time NVIDIA is "late" (as in, later as the competitor) to the market. Big green was lucky TSMC effed up their 40 nm-process so that AMD couldn't fullfill the demand.
If you had said "I had four ATI cards and all went shotgun so I won't buy one of their cards again", I would not argue. But this, no offense, is no reasonable reason to avoid a manufacturer.

Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks
Oh, it's not just that single excuse, i was a very loyal/happy ATI customer since radeon 7000.
But after a POS 9800, two overheating 9800XT's, my non-existant X800XT P.E and changing the control panel to that God awful catalyst control center.
I lost the faith and love.
Don't get me wrong, i have a hd4670 in a HTPC and its brilliant at doing that, but it would take a lot for me to consider them for performance related needs again.
If this GF100 is the equivalent to two 280 GTX's in SLI i'll be more than happy with that.
As long as Fermi isnt like thisI'll be happy

My prediciton? Fermi will be faster that 5870 but slower than 5970 (which is two cards remember). From what is hinted it seems like this card will REALLY shine with a refresh and possibly a die shrink (ala R600). It seems that this was not made for gamers but for crunching. We'll see. Last time Nvidia was quiet like this the G80 came out, but even so there are no games to really see the performance on. Time to invent a new trick to slow games down -> maybe rendering the entire game 3 times in sepia with 1000 AA????
What's up with the weird contradictions, one source says Fermi is going to be superfast, and the next says it's only like 20% faster then the 5870.
I wish we could be done with it already, it's getting on my nerves.![]()

I'll believe the amazing gaming performance when I see it.
So far what I see is: really late launch of the top part and a very moderate performance advantage over 5870 (otherwise Nvidia would be spamming us with performance charts already).
If fermi comes out at a price that no average man can afford, Id call that a huge fail. They make these things to sell in #'s, not to be a epeen trophy.(PS3 anyone?) Unless you have a rich daddy, who wants to spend 500+$ on a graphics card to play games from a outdated 200$ console. My friends are better served buying on needs more than wants. At ces microsoft said that they will launch natal next xmas, and that xbox360 has many YEARS! of life before they even think of new hardware. Welcome to rock bottom![]()

If I'm going to make a jump, make it a noticeable one.
Are we there yet?
Amazing gaming performance? Even a GTX 260 has pretty much amazing gaming performance except Crysis. You can play pretty much any game at any resolution you want. Except Crysis. BTW; when discussing game performances the two words "Except Crysis" are used so much that I propose one of the following against time wasting:
1. Use a short hand notation. E.C. should do fine.
2. Don't count Crysis as a game.
INTEL Core i7 920 // ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 // OCZ 3G1600 6GB // POWERCOLOR HD5970 // Cooler Master HAF 932 // Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme // SAMSUNG T260 26"Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Or everyone just have a common understanding that when discussing gaming performance Crysis should be generally excluded unless the Crysis card is explicitly invoked/mentioned/included in said discussion.
As for the GTX260, I play most games at 2560x1600 and high detail and while I would like a new video card its hard to rationalize upgrading other than to have new hardware to tinker with.

This screen i found on TPU forum, represent GF100 power truly REAL!
Between 20-23 percent above HD5870 and only little under HD 5970
Bull!
