I just thought of something. Are the top fittings metal on metal, or are the holes cut large enough to make the o ring on bottom contact the fitting only? I'm wondering about leaks now that I read some of your fittings had some issues with the holes. If it is metal on metal (as in the case metal contacting the fitting where the liquid is), then wouldn't an additional o ring for the top part of the fitting be in order?

Nevermind. I just looked closer and realize the fitting is protruding far enough below that it closes like normal. I'll leave this post just so that you know we've got your back and are paying atention! :-)

I would have just taken my hammer to mine had it continued leaking. Heh.

    Great looking, photos!

Bentleya, great photos, it would be real helpul if you can explain how you removed the bleed screw. Is it soldered shut and sanded? J B weld?
Heyas Kibbs - Purely aesthetic. I wish I could drop down a profound reason for utilizing the pass-throughs in an unconventional manner. sadly, I am unable. Yes, I'm I am a superficial, depthless charlatan. Lol

I had the same idea, because I've melted Yate Loon stickers a bit while sleeving, but every company I called said that they can produce not less that 500 pcs. for the min price about $70
Hey GK -I received 2 sheets of 40 stickers, tax, shipping and handling fees all for under $18. Ouch @ $70. Their prices are pretty competitive.
    I'm certain they ship internationally.
I'll look for the link and send it over.

Very much appreciate the kind words, woffen. I contacted Vincent from Bitspower and he promptly squared me away.

I'll take a few shots of the current condition shortly.

im just wandering though, where did you get your case? and where is everyone getting these square cases i really want one... or just a cheap case tbh. anything better than my small midi tower.
Spazloy - thanks for the words of support! Sorry for my late reply, but I see that alphadog hooked you with the correct link.
There are a few types of cube cases out there, but I chose to go the Mountain Mods route. You might also want to check out alphadog's worklog as he's planning to make what looks to be a pretty impressive one from scratch.

It's been a pleasure having you aboard, Kg. We have just a bit more to go. In the meantime, have drink at the tap room on deck. I heard they pour a mean Jack and Coke.

What pass-through connectors did you use? I'm pretty sure the top black part is the normal compression fitting - as is the bottom silver - but what's the middle piece? The "glue" that's holding it all together? Thanks.

Antioch - they're just your regular Bitspower pass-through connector purchased from SW.

The middle piece still being part of the pass-through connector.

(The connector on the right is the shorter discontinued version)

lol@thermaltake tho to be fair that is actually a pretty good harness back when I looked at one at compusa...back when compusa was compusa and not compusa/tigerdirect...

the pass-thru situation I now understand tho still do not see 100% eye to eyepatch. Seems the same could have been accomplished with female-female couplers and you could have gotten by with smaller holes.

too bad the shallower version is discontinued, I like to avoid fitting-bulkiness wherever possible and the sheer abundance of threads on the current version is an eyesore.

Ahoy, Kibbs...ah the old Thermaltake rig harness situation from CompUSA. Still going strong after all the years of abuse its been put through.

Yes. I tried the female to female connectors. I call them "Lezlies".

They do work and they are cheaper. However, they move. The pass-throughs "lock" the fittings to the panel and hold everything in place - which I like very much.

One thing I could try is to perhaps grind the excess threads down on the pass-throughs. Or send them to you and have you work your magic on them using your nibbler.
I've seen what you can do with that thing.
You must be really yolked or something.

    Hi Cpt, great build!

I really like how you replaced the o rings on the Bitspower fittings with the blue ones, are the new ones the Bitspower UV reactive ones i.e these?

If not, which are they and where did you get them?

Some of the updates require the weather to cooperate as breathing fumes from casting resin and rattle cans causes fear and loathing in PC modification situation.

You've just planted an idea in me noggin, Wez. I was thinking that perhaps the red supreme would go in my next red and black themed Lili build.
But what if I were to gut that toaster and make it into some kind of HTPC situation?
Cram a midgetATX mobo armed with the Red Supreme with red tubing.
Then I could mount 2 BR/DVD drives to simulate toast popping up from the top.

Oh...then I could put wings on the sides a la flying toasters from the After Dark screen saver. Remember those? That'd be kinda neat (albeit extensively geeky).

Ahoy, shazza! I may get tarred and feathered for saying this on here, but I never had an issue with the pre-Dell Alienwares.
They were AMAZING paperweights (I kid. I actually did like the look of the case in their hey day).

I hope to be posting my experience with the pass-throughs tonight.
Hopefully, you and other members will find it useful (and not to provide a reason for all to point and mock me for being off my rocker for even attempting to do what I'm doing).
