Fudge, I think I just topped out my PSU *grumbles*

Tried every adjusting every setting and no joy. BSOD after it tries to load windows - not even enough power to get the loading bar going

Checked PSU calculator and if it's 90% load or there about it's went over what my PSU is capable of >.<

Quick - someone go grab me at least 850W so I can see how stupidly low I can get 19x220 to boot stable at :P

@Brad, the only way that I managed to get past 222Bclk on these mobos is to use SetFSB in Windows, by doing this I managed to get Bclk up to 228MHz, but you need to do it 1MHz at a time, otherwise it locks up, or at least this is what happened with my system..

@Bex, you're not the only one with a failing PSU, my Be Quiet 850w has started making a hissing sound when the system isn't even on, and when I run any stress testing apps, like Prime, LinX, AS SSD and HDTune, the PSU starts making a squealing sound, almost like a ZX Spectrum loading up a cassette, so I have to send it back to Scan after the new year, hopefully they give me a replacement PSU.

Tried 1.425V and 200*20 does seem to be holding, supprised you need that much more voltage just for 200Bclk, also 200*21 seems to be working so far..

But temps are hot, 86C load.

Will try lowering voltage slightly to see if I can get it down a little.

    Stuck at BCLK 196

    Hi guys,

This board can reach 211 BCLK with 19x multiplier, but my CPU seems to suck when overclocking (I have a C0 stepping 3841A700 batch)

I'm now stuck at BCLK 196 with 21x multiplier, any ideas about how can I get this to magic number 200?

Temps are not a problem as I have phase change cooling in my CPU (Inner Cores report an absolute max of +15ºC, minimum of -22ºC, averaging -7ºC, compressor is at -32ºC at load).

    Current X58-Extreme Bios settings:

    Using F9q Bios

    CPU Clock Ratio:21x
    Intel Turbo boost: Enabled
    Multi-Threading:Enabled
    CPU Enhanced Halt: Disabled
    CPU THermal Monitor:Enabled
    PROCHOT:Enabled
    VT:Enabled

QPI Clock Ratio: x36 (QPI LINK SPEED 7.05Ghz)
    BCLK Freq: 196
    PCI-Express Freq: 102
    CIA2: Disabled
    CPU Clock Drive: 800 mV
    PCI-E Clock Drive: 900mV
    Cpu Clock Skew: 0ps
    IOH Clock Skew: 0ps
    Performance Enhance:Extreme
Memory Multiplier:8.0 (Mem Freq 1568, CAS 7-7-7-24, memory CAN take those clocks)

    Load-Line Calibration:Enabled
CPU Vcore: 1.500 (tried 1.462V,doesn't work)
    QPI/VTT:1.460V (tried 1.42V, doesn't work)
    CPU PLL:1.84V
    PCIE:1.50V
    IOH Core:1.320V
    ICH I/O: 1.6V
    ICH Core:1.2
    DRAM:1.66V

Uncore Clock Ratio: x17 (Uncore Freq. 3332Mhz)
    Isochronous Support:Enabled

    Thanks in advance!

Can anyone tell me if tRFC has any overall impact to performance ?
CPU-Z shows it at 88 and i have no idea how to lower it on a UD5.
Or if i even should lower it.

^ hello it will not have any greater impact on performance ,but u can test & play with it ............. by the way 88 is good enough ............... its in advanced memory settings menu & u have to set it manually for every channel

So a bit of an update, my Extreme motherboard performs better than my UD5.
No bclk issues going past 235,6MHz.

does turning on that make the multiplier x21 when it is full load

I'm just wondering why cpuz shows the same multiplier when the cpu is idling

Yup, the BIOSes are basically the same with all boards.

Update: Easytune 6 is stable at 19X BCLK 216, 4.1 Ghz, but when I set those settings in Bios I can't boot!

Any thoughts about how to solve this?

Yep he needs high VTT to compromise the high Dram voltage required by his non low voltage dimms... though for 24/7 I would loosen the timings to reduce the amount of Vdimm required (but I suspect his signature is his benchsetup, not 24/7 speeds)
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
