Besides for that my guess would have to be either your MCH is off ref wise a little, or your memory is off a little.. That is about all I can think of besides for the settings in Windows or maybe something is dieing.. I've had this issue when settings were off a little in the BIOS so I think it is that TBH.

My EP45T UD3P hated my CSX Diablo sticks (PC1600C8 Micron GTR) and Mushkin GTR's PC12800C. The board worked fine with any low voltage DDR3 ram (but I went I7 a long time ago, last bios I had for the EP45T UD3P was F4 or such), Same story for the EP45T UD3LR, can't stabilise the rams over 1700mhz...

Yep I5/7 models.. I only have 1.65V dimms here Jor (OCZ Blades and Corsair Dominators), I think the older Samsung IC based dimms work fine too with P45... you are planning on rebenching the Q9650 with P45 DDR3 ?

I really want to try out the G.Skill ECO ddr3 sticks but they are so expensive. Anyone know other alternative modules that use the same low voltage ICs?

Been away for a while, tending to xmas events and the like. During this I tried to lower voltages on my 500x9 profile, but have been having a little trouble getting the CPU 500fsb stable again, as it's not even passing the 8K FFT test on the 4th core now. My biggest concern is degradation after going for some of those HWbot rankings, although further adjustment of vtt, refs and skews have helped me get stable again but they're different from my previous stable settings which has baffled me.
Has anyone experienced this kind of behaviour? I'm 90% certain I've been using the same bios as before, but in case I'm wrong could anyone confirm if they've needed different skew/ref/vtt settings amongst different bios versions?
*edit: the settings I got to failed at 12Kfft test - starting to get a little concerned now - hope I haven't damaged it - it's still good @ stock though...

REX requires insane volts to go anywhere with a quad over 500FSB...

I just got one of these boards and finding that I like it a lot!
Don't have any Yorks here, just a lowly Q6600. It's running way better than the old AB9 Pro this proc was on.
This is at 18 1/2 hours...
Lowered the voltage and it's still going good (P95 shown running in the tray).

Hey Hoss,
True but I'm keeping things separate. The REX is with Duo's and the bench station with Quads (EP45, EP45T, EP45-Extreme).
I have the boards problem is time to set them all up (the EP45T arrives on the 30th). The only ddr3 ram I have is D9GTR so I have to give it a go. When possible send your bios template. :-)
I will try to do that till next Friday.
Hey everyone I have a UD3R and E8400. I had the cpu stable at 3.8Ghz and decided to update the bios today to F11. I re-entered all my previous stable settings in and now it restarts right before windows loads. What is the best current bios at this time so I can reflash and maybe have better luck.

Thanks Hoss331. That was my exact problem. I am now back up and running at 3.8Ghz.

Uh, uh, I hope your CPU is fine! If it isn't, mine could have degraded too. I used my Q9650 at 1,6VTT and 1,55Vcore to bench at 9x515 at the MIIFAs you already know, it needs insane volts to be able to bench at those clocks.
Let me know how it goes! Hope you can get it figured out.
Is S3 bug still present in latest BIOS versions?
How come Gigabyte boards don't lower Vcore when idle (when overclocked)? Do P55 and X58 boards also have fixed voltages?
I was going to buy Gigabyte again for my next build, but those two issues really annoy me![]()
