Lean up your OS and run the video cards to the max, right where they start to artifact.
Don_Dan might be able to help you with tweaking?

Two weeks of christmas break coming up: I predict LOT'S of benching I'm aiming on 20-30 cups in the P!!! section. Should contribute to those 150 points significantly. But after that I will reach my 300 hardware point limit

benchmark is being run at default settings... is this no different than people changing driver version, or disabling/enabling features in windows? i am upgrading parts of the operating system to improve my benchmark score...

    hey guys!

i haven't been really into clocking lately but i should put some points on the board soon enough
i'll get back the points i lost here and there and i'll play with my new toy, just got nice deal on a w3540.
i'm still in shock after missing a w3570 on the bay for like 650$ OMG!!!!

i'll test different things and i should be good for benching on WC before the holidays and be ready for some dice action when the dust settles.

It'll be GREAT to have another hardware master on our team!
Think you will be able to bench some hardware which will get global points after that?
    Good work!

    Linuxfan,

Scanned the bot, I trust that little 920 did some justice eh?

I bet on ln2 it will be right where I ballparked it at about 4.8 3d .

Now its time for me to get my own 5970's and turn the heat up a tad more

That 920 has been performing great. I know it can get 4.8+ 3d if I could get the board to do it, I wasn't pushing it at all. It can do 4.64ghz HT in 3D on H2O I know.
Dunno what the trick is to get the gigabyte board over 221bclk....
Getting a Classified E760 in this week so I should get over 4.6ghz and do some nice runs...
    Getting 3 5870s in today.

The paradox in that quote is that neither of those people would be willing to trade in their opinion the one of the other. If only few opinions count, who decides which do. Or, if you want to live up to that quote: would you accept that yours doesn't matter?

PCI BUS needs to be clocked + pci volts to get higher bclock, also Vtt helps of course this is coming from an intel nub

I have a new board coming that does Bclk even easier so no need for EVGA for me.

Massman I think the grey areas really just need to be black and white cut and dried.

It really doesn't matter to me if the score is blocked, what matters most to me is grey areas no longer exist.

If we suceeded in getting that done than the way I see it progress is progress.

I think whether you or others want to do it or not you are going to have to tighten up ship or eventually this full steam locomotive is going to jump track and derail and be so far out of control that there will be no fixing it.

The correct annotation of that little saying is "Opinions are like bumholes. Everyone has one and they all stink".....mine included.

In a different thread I've expressed my point of view on grey areas. For sure this imposes an issue, as grey areas always do. In that aspect, what happens within the oc-community is no different from what happens in real-life

There's on lengthy reply in the IGP thread.

//edit: just for the record - if all opinions stink, it doesn't matter which we follow. In fact, as all are equal, either opinion is as good as another one; therefor there would be no point in contesting the decision made based on this opinion. What follows is a spiral of pointlessness: no route is the right one, so why does it matter what route we take.

Do note that above is NOT how I believe these issues should be solved.

Yep that is preety much the point of that old saying.

Scanned through what I believe to be the post you were referring to and for the most part I agree fwiw.

I still say maybe a few grey areas shaded in to either be black or white would not hurt but on the same token agree that a rule book as thick as all the amended laws in the US is not the answer.

I know for a fact that there are results in pc mark NOT using IE by users own admissions in just a few of the threads floating around.

You can still go higher in the hardware master category, and all your points will still count for the team score, so keep on torturing those P3s!

Those results are relative to the hardware he used, some 2D results are not applied to 775 platform.

Saw that just a few days ago.... great read!
I just made the switch for my 3d runs from W7 64 to W7 32bit, looks like that wasn't the best choice though according to those runs. I'll make the switch to Vista 32 now for my 3d benching.
I have for a while now been using XP32 for my 2D CPU benching, it is noticeably faster for sure.

Working on some GTS 250 action.... still have a lot of testing to do with those... Have two different cards to test, going to get better crossfire results than I have now hopefully soon...
So far the MSI TwinFrozer 1GB GTS 250 has been able to run about 20mhz faster on the core than the Palit 1GB card that I have.
