Would be cool if you could come and show some new products, I would be happy to assist you with all that hardware...

hehe, all you need is a USB thumbdrive, every point counts!

@thijs: What do you mean by coldboot crap?

Congrats to Brian for getting the first global cup back to xs!

We're well over 8000 points again too!

My board has a very low coldboot, in combination with my W3540. didnt had it with the 920 , so it's really a cpu / mobo combo. and so far what i tried there isnt really a booting point lower in temp either ( some say after -86 or so it will boot again ) but i didnt had that either.

So im kind of done with the classified, i know the P6T6 is liked by quite alot, so im selling my classified, and buying one of those. hopefully i get one that can do a good bclock

I heard you need to cool it below -110C, cut the power on the PSU, power on again, then it should boot again. Did you try that?

No, but i tried up until -115. and regarding your solution, everyone seems to have a thing that powers his on, i havent found mine yet, but i'm not intending to waste more liquid nitrogen trying to find it. besides, the P6T6 can deliver some proper bclock aswell, so no worries! and it boots normal atleast :P

HWBOT requires benchmarks to be run at default settings, as they are supposed to be run. Modifying benchmarks to make it run faster is not allowed...

So am I to assume that all other benches with high web page rendering are to be deleted as well now?

If you spot submissions which have altered the browser used to render the pages, then yes, please report them.

Anyone have some unlocked 5970 BIOS to help me push this 5970 to its real limits, not the CCC limits, I think with 1.3V I can hit at least 1030 core on air... I am really stuck at my max scores at the moment, I cant push my CPU much more due to air limitations, so I have to push GPU more. My 27500 Vantage, needs to go higher.

Was the benchmark really modified though? What specifically do you think was modified or affected in the bench?

Then I guess your all for people not using LOD among other tweaks? After all 3d mark does not run with LOD out of the box......If thats the case say goodbye to 90 % of the results on bot.

I think the point here is when all the top dogs know the tweaks it's fine for them not to share......but when only a small group has the info then it's taboo.....

Bottom line when the shoe is on the other foot all of a sudden it's no longer considered tweaking or legit.

BTW 4 cores at 6400 is very potent......we only dropped to 6.3 for the last test in the bench.......

My question to you and James : Hwbot doesn't approve this, neither does futuremark. Why post these scores ? showing off hardware for the manufacturers ? bragging rights ? to create a stirr ? really beats me... no end user will be able to replicate and is being deceived by these scores... Post a score with a normal functioning Pcmark and then we will talk again...
maybe you should bark up the right tree.......there are lots of pc mark results NOT using IE as the actual browser for the bench posted on bot

You seem to think that with LOD applied it's not less demanding? You are sadly mistaken my friend......I can always squeeze more clocks out of a card with LOD applied.......it doesn't change 3d mark tests?

Seems on ATI in order to run it on certain benchmarks things need to be changed

Long story short for the pc mark run windows is modified......the bench is not.......otherwise it wouldn't pass a valid

Seems to me windows hacking/modifying is and has been what people consider overclocking for quite some time now........

Just reading thru this and I'll be the first to admit I don't play in this end of the hobby but it strikes me that the best way for all of you to proceed is to state one simple rule: No software tweaks to the OS.
Isn't the idea to see who can get the most out of the hardware?
Now I may be naive here but to me this makes sense.
Keeps it fair for all and gets the submissions back to where they should be.
On a fair playing field for all.

I usually try to stay out of these things - but my 2 cents here would be there is a better forum to air you questions and grievances than a XS team thread - where scores are looked at daily and team chatter is about... especially after the thread had been sanitized before

@Movieman : Right on Dave, like I said in one of my now deleted posts : it's better to team up with a software hacker than with another overclocker to jield top scores... far easier to do and less expensive on hardware.... Tweaking the OS is allowed to me, changing stuff or even completely rewriting code(s) in the benchmark itself is not considered tweaking to me... but that varies from member to member here it seems... Another very sad evolution in the overclocking world this year, let's hope 2010 is more sportsmanship orientated...
Then push the people at HWBot to include the rules you guys want so all are equal.
I know for me when I run a benchmark I shut down any open apps and just run it..No tweaks, no fiddling around,etc..
That makes what I show reproducable by someone with the same hardware.
Maybe I don't get the max points but it's an honest representation of the hardware and isn't that what benchmarks are supposed to be?
There is also the side benefit that when I show a benchmark there are no questions on it. No one accuses me of any games,etc..
That is more important to me than any points or fleeting glory and it should be that way to everyone.

Those are rather bold claims......seeing as you have no idea or proof that the benchmark was code was altered......

Just some fyi......what if i didn't want to run say IE on my rig because it well SUX......now i'm excluded from pc mark?........nope.

Bench searches for iexplorer.exe.......and that is all......figure that out and you can figure encoding out.

Sorry I got better things to do than cry and report TWEAKS.....I have reported one user once due to the fact that there TWEAK was photoshop CS4......other than that you won't see me reporting scores.

    Movieman,

See the problem is people "tweak" crap all the time.......seems its fair game for all the big guns so until something is done about it I will just start playing the game on an even playing field.

    *****Delete when needed GoatEater****

The rules are clear enough Dave, Gautam already described it as human nature to take the edge somehow : legal or not. We've seen it so many times this year and even in live events... I've got no idea how some still can feel good in their own skin. I'm also just a kid compared to these guys, but at least I play my game at the level it was foreseen to be run... just like you, I push hardware... nothing else...

I won't even waste my time in answering that Chew as your best defense seems to attack (fyi maybe l know more than you suspect)... we are talking benching here, don't tell me you bench on ya daily OS HD. It searches for more then just IEexplorer.exe..(you need to do just a bit more than to rename an executable). And does eg using firefox instead jield such a high score then ? No word on the encoding score ?

Just show me a real pcmark score, not this... Difference with your point of view regarding tweaking and modifying seems to be pretty big with mine.... Weird as you mention many times you don't like this approach using software tweaks, yet you are applying them, upping them to be validated and are even defending them now. I'm done discussing this monstrosity as I will start to smoke in 5 minutes if this continues

I didn't submit a thing. Pro submitted it to my account, I didn't tweak a thing but the hardware on the system. Foot---> Mouth.

Do I know how to hack and tweak......sure, doesn't mean I do it nor do I really need to.

I personally don't give a rats ass about the score. All I did was ask why it was deleted.....reason being I wanted to see how selective bot is at removing tweaked results....I got my answer.

I've had this conversation before about tweaking altering the way a bench runs and whatnot.

If the horse is dead, get off and walk. No sense in beating a dead horse however I find this rather ironic seeing as when I have had this conversation before I get the big STFU tweaking is overclocking.

    Conversation over.

    To all:
I don't have the answers but the one thing I do know is that all of us are here at Xs because we share this interest in the machines.
Discussions on topics should be handled as friends even when we disagree.
If we can do that then issues can be sorted out.
