I'll participate as well. I've already done 10X test runs successfully up to 345HT, but am waiting on some cold and time to rearrange and backup hard drives before pushing too hard. I don't have a seperate benching rig, so I have to at least try to tread carefully: don't want to fry or corrupt my rig.

here are runs in win7 64bit.. Only thing different is I went for 1800 mem vs 1333 mem on the 10x multi run.

I tried a few more things today using the 10 multi but I couldn’t get much more out of it. I tried a different OS (XP), shutdown unneeded devices in the bios, dropped down to one GPU and one hard drive but none of it helped. I then swapped out the OCZ memory for the Gskills and that did help a little as the system booted at 10x355=3550MHz. The one thing that surprised me was that the Gskills would now run at tighter timings on the C3 965 than when used earlier with the C2. Anyway I think I’ll move on to the 17 multi maybe tomorrow and let the 10 multi be as is.

well Im kinda stuck here.........if I use the bios that supports c3 I can only do 210 from the bios but I get fully functional cpu with better performance.........but If I use the bios that doesnt support c3 I can do 270HTT but it doesnt run at optimal performance. The bios that works best with high HTT was able to run 295HTT on my C2. So something is skewed here but Im going to do a run with the older bios just for the hell of it to see how it works out...

Wasn't able to compete for 10x but that didn't stop me from trying with 17x.

Unforunately i won't have the new ram before monday so if this is the end and we're reaching our final destination i have to make do with a mere 290ht.

I have a feeling there's plenty more but i cannot unleash it probably because of the ram.

This is my first run at the 17 multi. I may loosen some of the setting then try again tomorrow. All of my posted results (so far) are with Vista 32-bit on an Asus Crosshair III MB.

Thanks crazydiamond, it’s water but I use a small car radiator sitting outside my shop window. I have a photo posted in this thread back on page #4 post #98. It’s working ok I think I need a second pump though.

You guys with your rads outside....

    Awesome results.

My 4250MHz run was done in 20ºC ambient, i'm not gonna take the case outside again. Too much rain this weekend.

    Damn 3d mark06

    Can you believe this?:

But no way to run 06.

I think 3d mark 06 is to blame.

For some odd reason 3d mark 06 reset my multiplier to the default 17x.

I found out when i was gunning for 20K only to find a score way lower than i expected.

The darn multi was gone down from 21x to 17x.

I had no idea what caused this but when i started 3d mark 06 with cpu-z opened i saw the multi go to 17x.

I can imagine it does the same at 10x multi so that will make 17x340...

Systems hangs a few seconds after starting 06. crap!

    Anyone else had this?

Do you have AOD installed? Did you check the box at the end of the install that said "enable AOD Smart Profiles?" 3dmark06 has a profile in AOD that sets the CPU to default on all cores.

lol, this sounds familiar, eh charged.

@zeus, do what charged says, I had the exact same problem, for some reason AOD is set to default at that multiplier in "smart profiles"!

You, my friend, are a champ and i owe you a big beer.

    Finally got it:

Stupid AOD!! I did not even open that prog, it just changed the multi!

It seems this is where the board maxes, i tried 345 but it did not even boot.

Maybe the new ram will bring some improvement but i'm happy with 340 for now.

Great job when I saw your post I was pretty sure what it was. I use AOD smart profiles daily now. I modified the predifined list with added apps and higher clocks. Works fantastic. If I had a i7 920, I would do a stock comparison with the profiles enabled. Since CnQ work fine with it. Glad you got it working.

Just curious, are you guys raising chipset voltages to get those uber high HTRef clocks?

I had to raise the NB (chip) +.1v to get 311ht, but I didn't add any to the SB...

I don't want to push too hard (I need this board to last a few more months ), but I was wondering what you guys are using for chipset voltages...

I did have to when I did my 310 HT ref with 14x multi. But never ran higher so Not sure if it would be needed.

I can reach 345 with +.1 nb, stock sb, with the 790xt-ud4p and c3. Tomorrow I'll turn a few more things off in bios, go to +.2 nb and +.1 sb, and see if I can get any higher. 350 ran initially but crashed halfway through 3dmark. I'm hoping for some cold temps Sunday night to do some 17X runs. Been too busy with xmas party tonight, put wife's winter tires on, change oil in my wrx, yada yada...

BTW, I was running with even higher nb and sb for a while when using my 550be, but not at high ht.

Thanks for the info man! Adding v's to the NB seemed to help me too, but I'm a little leary of going +.2 on the NB... I'm not sure how important the SB voltage would be when it comes to HTRef, but I'll be interested in your results.
