Ok, I'm now on the F9e I was able to boot with the voltage setting that I used with the F7 Bios.

But I had to start from 3.0 - 3.2 - 3.6 - 3.8Ghz to make it finally boot properly. I couldn't just set it at 213x18 right after the flash to F9e.

Really weird, but I experienced that also on the Asus P6T.

This is my first attempt after building the thing. Not messed with memory timings yet. CPU seems a bit hot. I can boot and enter Win7 at 4515 (21x215) but unstable obviously...

QPI/VTT is at 1.315v. Don't really know what to use for this as i'm new to i7's.

Any suggestions for improvements other then up vcore and pump 4300mhz in ?

Also... any link to a guide or thread with all the bios settings explained and recommended values with this motherboard?

Try x17-x18 Uncore, and some more QPI/Vtt and 1.2-1.24 QPI PLL. 1.66 Vdimm wouldn't hurt either

    That is my rig:

I'm pissed of, not getting more than 222 bootable, because of the low pcie freq. And I don't want to do the hardmod!

Just a Q guys help me out with bios
For the f9X series .Which one to go with f9a to f9i
Now with f9h , not able to run linx stable

while running linx monitoring temps of my CPU through Core Temp , if it goes above 81c BSOD occurs .In bios CPU vcore voltage was set to 1.281,QPI to 1.36,CPU PLL to 1.600.

But with f7d i was able to do 4300 linx stable the temps were hovering around 89-90.
Is my CPU stepping C0 the problem , should i shift to D0 ??

Just received my ram a week back , but exploiting it now to its full.......

I'm thinking of buying W3520 insted of i7 920 D0 to pair with UD5 and have a few simple questions, since quite a few members here have W3520 + EX58-UD5 combo. According to official site W3520 is supported with F7 or later BIOS.

    1) Will Xeon W3520 work with stock BIOS (F3?) UD5 will come with at least to allow flashing to a newer version? Cause i won't have access to i7 920, so i need to make sure i won't run into troubles right out of the box
    2) Is it true that W3520 usually OC better and needs less volts than 920 D0? Obviously batches will differ, but i'm talking a bout safe general tend here.

    Thanks in advance.
