From what I can tell the customer rep asks for the email and tests to make sure it's active(ie: it can receive emails) and then asks for the rest of your order info. At the end you'll be told that an order confirmation email has been sent and that's all. You don't even need actual access to the email address, it just has to be able to receive the email from microsoft.

Then she ran a single $327 order on my card and after all was said and done she never fixed anything!! She simple ran ANOTHER $32.76 on my account!!

When I logged on to my account there were over $1000 in charges for W7 pro pending!! Needless to say I called them back and had them cancel the first 2 orders. Which took all of 30 seconds to show up as cancelled on my account. Thank god for a phone rep that actually speaks english!! She actually asked ME " how did she (meaning the other rep) do this?" I said "HEY! its your guys employee, you tell me."

    totally F'ed up.
I've found that if a customer rep seems clueless, tell them you'll call again later, hang up and redial and wait for a competent person to answer.

ANOTHER UPDATE!! So far they have ordered and cancelled on me 7 times!!!. My last order is pending and I wont find out untill tomorrow. Ohh wait...Thanks Giving?? I guess Ill have to wait until next week to find out if they are going to try to screw me out of my student promo. I am getting the feeling htat they are trying really hard to NOT honor the student promotion they are offering.

They keep giving me STUPID REDICULOUS reasons for cancelling; told me because my middle initial is on my card and not on the order its getting cancelled. Also telling me that my card wont authorize the charges. Complete BS!! I called my card, which has a zero balance BTW, the rep for my CC informed me that they have approved the transactions a couple times already. That mean that MS is cancelling the orders of thier own accord. This doesnt bode well and unfortunately for them I AM the guy that will take them to court if thay refuse to honor the deal.

I shall paitently await my "confirmation email" that is promised within 24 hours.
Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. My eldest is some sort of CSGO champion gold label something or other. Me I work and shoot real guns. Build Comps as needed.

Took me about 5 tries. Some say that the deal is not for the "full" version while others don't know what to do and simply redirect me to the website.

This happened to me too. If you want to speed this process up, call 1-877-436-1002. That's microsoft's credit card protection team, call them and tell them you're calling to verify your order details. They'll take all your information and afterwards the order should be processed. Make sure that it's for $32 as well.

Quite true, though usually staff also gets a .edu email too. So far I'm using it with both MS Dreamspark and now random promos like this. Win7 Pro 64.

Thanks for the information. worked right off. The order I was waiting on was in fact cancelled but by me calling thier credit protection team the guy said I would have to reorder but would put in a "note" regarding this. When I reordered it went through immediately.

I did this and the the only OS they offered was what ultimately equated to an upgrade of 7 home premium. It was an executable file. No disk or image.

When I ordered I specifically asked if it was an upgrade version; the rep told me it was the "retail version of Windows 7 Professional."

Mine should be here tomorrow. ill let you know what I actually get.

I just ordered tonight. The girl on the phone was very competent. She know what the deal was, asked for my info and I received an email instantly confirming my order.

$29.99 + $2.62 for tax. FREE SHIPPING. Total was $32.61. The real test will be in early January or whenever I receive my new .edu. I'll try to get a second copy.
