This one is done by chamfering of the bottom edge of the nipple.

Smooth thread ending could be obtained this way too, but this could be applied only to the bolt thread end:

That's beautiful. Was waiting for a render to show the guts of a rad. Now I understand how a rad works. What software?

Oh GOD some of these look so real! It inspired me to attempt this haha. I did the model in sketchup in about an hour and its rendering in kerkythea atm the uh metropolis light transport setting i think
I Downloaded a heap of metal materials for KT but it won't show them in the list for some reason :/ So i just put a picture as the texture in sketchup. This is my first attempt at anything 3d so go easy :P

This is just a screenshot of it in sketchup, and ill post the render when its done

P.S MIKE scale down your images! no ones monitor is 12MP!

If I saw that image anywhere but in this thread, I would swear it's a photograph. Nice rendering.

Got Rhino 4.0 working with AutoCAD, still struggling to get it to work with Maxwell 1.71 though.

    Thanks The Shooter

The EK compressions fittings have a different knurl finish I think... (the finish is based off of a file Eddy_EK provided for me)

I actually made the worklog based on the 3d-model, haha!

Did some renders of my upcomming build, just need to finish the current builds first.

Edit: Never mind the logo, it should say "Scratch build".
