Yes..when you change voltage via software, it seems only the 'FB' is being changed..and not the VID..as we know that changing VID also changes OCP. It stands to reason, that if only the FB pin source is being altered..then it will be the only point that has changed from stock value, once voltage has been changed....
As for the SMD caps..they are on the front side of the GPU, in the first ...on the row of SMD's closest to the copper sinks..I piggy-backed them to the existing ones...
*the 5870 has 4x input power phases for GPUv...with dual-phase ouputs..making a total of 8x output power phases for GPUv.
