I think you can get better apps to measure that. I don't think 3dmark would be the best for that.

agreed, 3dmark is about speed not cores..
cinebench, wprime, thats where the dualies shine..
Also Alex Yee's pi app y-cruncher is excellent for this.

Does not work.. at least it doesn't work on a DP Westmere-EP (which has 24 threads as well). Just throws an error upon starting the test. I guess it can't handle more than 16 threads, just like CB10.

Not for me. I ran 3DMark06 on my dual gainestown at 3458mhz w/EVGA 260GTX and the scores were SO bad I was embarrassed by them.
I think the score was in the 19,000 range..
Speed not cores is what you need for that bench..

euhm yes, but i was talking about cpu test alone, and then compare them to singlke, quad or anything else, you would notice a diffrence though

Just look at Intel leaks, they are maximum 6 months before official product launches, that's when OEM's and ODM's are getting their first samples for validations.
aGreed with you ... but you're wrong about AMD. Just ask s7 when he get his G34 batch of Magny-Cours chips? It seems few month before schedule for me if we're talking about usual 6 month engineer validation time.

As some sites reported AMD had working 32nm proto-production in September so it might be some SOI prototype (far fetched) or it might be fake as usual on that chines pop-PR sites

It's a real question could CPU-Z 1.52 detect 32nm CPU, AVX instruction an fake steppings if cpu-z author don't even know which specification to address!

btw. s7 why this Magny-Cours sample has only 10MB of L3 cache when 2x Istanbul die should carry 12MB of cache? They deliberately sacked that part of cache for ES? (and could you pleas post SS in png format is somewhat smaller for those kind of pics)
