to be fair, i dont think FOV changes should be allowed... not because i disagree with customization, but it is borderline cheating. having a ridiculous FOV option in some games gives an awful looking view but at a great advantage to the player.

see i have always disagreed with this statement from someone who wants to argue it, if you really think your being owned or are at an unfair advantage. Turn scaling off on your monitor and play in a widescreen res, and fix the FOV. This is where the confusion comes in. Widescreen is not an option only for people with widescreen monitors and everyone seems to think that, I played games in widescreen on my 19 inch forever before i bought a widescreen monitor. You are NOT forced into an unfair advantage without a widescreen monitor. If you dont want black bars thats your loss. and the FOV cap for COD4 MW is 80 anyway, which is still pretty bad, better than 60 though.

This whole debacle is why im still a tiny bit pissed at EA for pulling away support for this on BF2+. They said the same thing, unfiar advantage for widesreen monitor players, thats a load of crap, we play pc games for a reason, control, and you can control your resolution/ratio, no matter what monitor you have.

You don't see Liquor shops whose bread and butter comes from people who drink alcohol calling them the scourge of society, or worthless alcoholics with problems, or even labelling them as responsible for all the deaths on the roads from drink driving. i think that FOV should be appropriately adjusted for 4:3, 5:4, 16:10, and 16:9 displays/resolutions, or others, i just dont think that one should be able to arbitrarily change the FOV... especially to crazy numbers like 180, sacrificing a normal/pleasing image in favor of fish-eye vision.

Then changing resolution, image quality and fps also shouldn't be allowed? If you are skilled enough to play with fov 180 then why not?

No PB support
No dedicated servers
Match making shoved down your throat
No kicks / bans
Undisclosed differences between the versions of each platform
No support for Mods
limited to 9v9 max
No FOV changes or anything else for that matter
Very short single player campaign (that is heavily scripted and due to that has no replay value)
Very questionable mission that will get us another step closer to games being banned
Some random dude you never met before with a uncertain internet connection will host the mp game
IW.net will be nothing but anti piracy and match making, anything that could lead to the building of a community will be left to the steam friend list / chat function.
Insane high price for the pc version.

Any reason left why I should buy it?

I agree. Or there should be a limit at least. Perhaps FOV settings for 16:9 monitors or so.

I just can't believe IW actually thought we would swallow a shoddy console port of an expansion pack, which is exactly what MW2 is going to be. I genuinely feel sorry for all of those people who pre-ordered and haven't found out about this yet, the official forums will likely go into melt down on release day.

I agree guys....I remember seeing the G3 COD 4 MW trailer and I couldn't believe how cool it looked. It turned our to be my favorite game of all time....and now this. Honest to God, Half Life 2 and COD4 turned me into a pc gamer instead of console gamer.

I feel bad for all those console gamers that have never experienced a great quality game on the pc.

edit oh and what's hurting me more and more about all this is NO MODS. I love ALL the mods and maps for COD4
