I was going to get this game, but IW can go shove it where the sun don't shine.

Bought Borderlands on release day for €35. Best game I've played this year.

    Is borderlands worth the 50$?

I'm tired of mediocre games. The number of times i've dumped 50$ into games and then had them be crap is ridiculous. I'm so skeptical of games now a days. ESPECIALLY after this fiasco.

Luka, you play tf2? We should hit it up some time. I love tf2.

The best part about tf2 - is it was 20$ and it has given me more play time then any other game in my gaming history.

I played regularly for some time, I don't play it now, I think I'm making a sub-conscious boycott to Valve because of their recent positions towards the gaming community (L4D2 really made me feel mad).

I'm more into QuakeLive now, but everyone may add me as friend on Steam, search lohka_86 or 0M3G4, that should do it.

You know the boycott officially ended right? I've played L4D2 at PAX and it is different enough to warrant a new game imo. I can tell you all more on Nov. 11th when I get to tour Valve .

Quakelive is pretty awesome though so I can see how you would be content with that.

Is it that different that the changes couldn't have been applied to L4D through updates as everyone thought would happen?

Several new special infected, which means that the AI Director needed to be redone/changed drastically to compensate. Day time maps where the witch walks around. The way you get weapons felt drastically different. They added so many that instead of clusters of weapons and ammo you find one gun here, another there. Plus, the addition of melee weapons which means they had to change physics and what not for it. I played through the first level of the Dark Carnival and it certainly felt a lot different than L4D 1. It was REALLY open. I mean, my friends and I actually got lost and there are some weapons that you couldn't find unless you explored some.

It just seemed like there were a ton of possibly smaller additions play wise that, that I couldn't expect anyone to add for free. More changes than TF2 has had from what I have seen. That made it worth the money to me. IF you could find some friends the game only cost $33.75 assuming you don't have to pay tax like I did.

The demo for those that pre-ordered comes out today, so I am sure there will be tons of opinions soon if you want them.

Damn, I hate when a good argument starts to change my mind

Ok, I think I'll give it a try after hearing what some of my Steam friends have to say about it.

    Actually it doesn't.

    It just got delayed.

The funny part is Activision/IW just on PC gamers. And now valve did by not even following through on a deadline they set for themselves. They promised it and didn't deliver. I personally don't care too much, but the forums over at steampowered.com don't even work anymore there are so many people raging.

ya i heard the 360 version has leaked already.
And tbh from what i hear from Xbox360 users the piracy on the 360 might even b higher then on the PC.

I hope the piracy on the 360 becomes insane. It will help PC gaming.

I think that piracy on console will be much easier than PC in the near future. Since the console is a stock system one chip replacement or software hack could allow players to download games via torrent and transfer them to the console hard drive. How can Xbox live catch this. This and hacks will be available soon. And what about the next console generation? Once you have network compatibility with a PC you will be able to hack in. The only thing I can think is that XBox users will have to register EVERY GAME on xbox live, and they will either have to be online or have an onboard chip that registers the game for off line play. Haxxors will be king on console sooner rather than later, or until steam comes to console gaming.

atm they combat piracy with firmware updates but those r cracked easy.
I know several people who have 2 xbox360s. 1 for online play and 1 for pirated games. Some got 1 and have a switch so they can stil play online without getting banned.

Like u said the main reason piracy wil become big fast on the 360 is cause its easy to hack and rip no software tools needed to make it work.
My m8s do have PCs but their PCs arent fast enough to play the PC versions and they think its to complated to play pirated games on the PC.

But a 360 will always play the game without a problem and hacking it is easy. And all big titles have been on the net a week orso before launch.

So many Devs are ranting on about piracy on the PC but i got the feeling that it may be worse on the 360.
Alot of people out there with PCs that cant play the top games or dont know how to use the software tools.

So in the end, MW2 was found on the console 1st before the official release date. It's unclear if it's an actual official disc or otherwise. Which clearly shows others of how real this is.

    Off topic:
Not only do I believe that Steam may come in MS's next xbox but DX11 as well.

    On topic:
I honestly don't know how that person acquired his copy but it's clear he has it well before release. Something that shouldn't be happening right now. As mentioned before, there are a few ways this can happen.

Should find out if it has rly leaked tomorrow at work.

Might as wel be someone being funny and it just a rly big trash file.

But wouldnt suprise me seeing several big 360 releases found their way onto the net more then a week before official release.
release is some 2 weeks away so shouldnt be impossible for someone with the right connections to get their hands on it.

And btw Steam doesnt make piracy impossible. Many steam games have been pirated already.

    edit:
Does make me giggle like a lil girl seeing all the stores lowering their prices on MW2 pre-orders.
Already seen 20 to 30 euro discounts on the PC version and also some 20 euro on the console versions.
This must be cause of the cancellation of the preorders. Lowerig the prices means they also have to refund the discount to the people who pre-ordered it for the original price.

Since someone posted a video of Airport level on YouTube already from the French version, something had definitely leaked then.
Edit: Russian MW2 torrent is up for THREE days now, LOL. Any more questions?
Edit2: meh, that's bonus DVD with videos, wallpapers and stuff, not the game itself.

So non of us noticed for 3 days -.- and i had to hear it from a buddy at work who doesnt even like COD. ya we are really hardcore pirates .

Il go and wait til devs start nagging about xbox360 piracy killing the community but i gues il win the lottery before that happens.

edit: meh even if the russian stuff isnt real there stil r the french youtube videos. So its definetly out there.

I fine it funny as all hell that the first copies of pirated MW2 was for the console side. Where's their argument now that all PC gamers are pirates. More that peeps move from one media source to the other also come's the hack/pirates. What the IW/Activistion team just blatantly stupid or what. All hall the coming's of the console pirates.

P.S BTW this PC gamer has and will always BUY my copies of PC games. It just pisses me off that Game companies think every PC gamer a pirate.
