Personally it drives me more nuts when companies sell a product before it has even been released and the only information you are given is the advertising jargon on the box.
So IMO if they are happy to take your money for a pre-order they should not complain when people give their opinions as a preview.

I concur. However, while wiping out the nerdrage about the game that has not been yet released is more or less legit, they also wiped out the information about the game that would influence the purchasing decision.
But what it also means is that the debacle is being noticed.
BTW Sparky that AC Silencer you sold me a while back is still spinnin' on the 6800 Ultra in my 6-year old AXP rig![]()

if i can get the game for 29.99 or less on PC i will probably pick it up mainly for the SP campaign.
BF3 can't come sooner! its in development. And no not BadCompany 2, which also looks decent.

I watched the Invisible walls show on gametrailers.com and there ya can really see(hear) what some people(game reviewers) really think about pc gaming. PC gamers are Pirates says Shane... I thought that it was easier to pirate a game for a console.

i have to admit that i pirate alot of games. But always to check em out.
Because most games either dont get demos or get demos before launch and the demos r full of bugs and we all know that demos often dont reflect the quality of a game.
So i often pirate games to test them to see if i actualy like it or to see if the demo was a good reflection of its quality.
Every game i ripped that i liked i also bought. I ofc always check prices and usualy got it at the place where it was cheapest unless ofc i rly loved it and had to have it immediatly.
Every game i ripped that i didnt like ended up being uninstalled within an hour of installation.
Ive bought to many games on launch day wich didnt have a demo and i ended up throwing 40-50 euro away (Empire: Total War for one wich needed several patches to become stable).
I think the main reason for Piracy rly is people who want to try before they buy they want to find out if theyl like the game and if its worth the 50 euro. And the reason they do so is cause to many companys treat us their customers as crap. They charge us 50 euro for buggy games or half assed games like for example Hearts of Iron 3 wich i was interested in but on launch date was half finished.
So the majority of us commits piracy because the companys treat us like.
But then ofc stil got the minority who rips games and plays them online etc.
edit:
@Pillo-kun
I listened to the cast and 1 of them guys rly doesnt have a clue what he is talking about. I doubt he even knows what a dedicated server is and he actualy gets paid to review games -.-.
The other guy who boycots MW2 rly know what he was talking about and made a good point. If IW decides to pull the plug at some point then we you cant play MW2 online anymore unless there r dedicated servers.

i know my grammar sux so stop hitting me
at amazon.de mw2 still has only 1,5 stars
howver, tbh, i can understand that they deleted the reviews. the game isn't even out, so an objective review isn't possible imo - even though we know a lot of the game from accouncements it's not a review of the actual product.

I've been listening to that cast from day 1 and shane satterfield has ZERO idea what he is talking about yet pulls rank over everyone else at every occasion. It really bugs me that he's incharge.
He also made a comment that crysis looked terrible and ran terrible on his $2000(?) PC.
But isn't Shane that made the interviews with the Iw about the game and he acted like theirs buddy? Friends watch each others backs so it is only naturally he would protect them in some way, but him having the job he has make this all twisted.

I am an extremely different kind of pirate to the fact i will pirate it to find out if its worth buying but i still dont keep the file if its not worth buying. I dont keep the file, but i pirate to find out if like i said is it worth buying, my point there is that i dont think it would be as much as a problem if people pirated for that reason but instead they do it and keep the file were i get rid of it if its worth buying or not. It take up space on my hard drive.

here in Portugal we, the overall enthusiast/pc gaming community, have a different definition for "piracy"
we think that piracy is downloading and selling what you downloaded without giving it's original author what they are supposed to gain with that sell; you make money with practically no costs at the expense of others work.
and we think that when you download something and use it and no one knows about it, you use it just to yourself, you practice copyright infringement through digital way; you are copying someone's work and just making personal use of it, not making any money...
two different things, imo, both wrong.
Are we there yet?

More...According to Bowling, Modern Warfare 2 will in fact contain a third person mode available in private matches only. “It’s not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game,” Once initiated, it will force that view on all players in that private match until the next match. He added that this will be “another cool way to play the game,” and that you will “still have the option to play gametypes normal as well.”
And thats before mentioning ISPs that throttle or disconnect once P2P use is detected...
No dedicated server = game won't be purchased by me and no, I won't even pirate it.
Lulz what? now they even force a camera perspective on you?
The original UT is how old again? yet it is still the best mp game ever...

QFT.
Sad but true in fact. I only stopped playing (Zark mod) regularly a couple of years ago.
There are still active clans today playing UT GOTY with mods on dedicated servers.
Perhaps this is what IW/Activision wants to avoid in future, just have us playing their games until their new one is out with no community/mods/clans to keep older versions alive making them no cash.
