One of the guys I work with was asking about the location of Singapore the other day... I said it was in Thailand (probably not right!), but in reality, I have no clue where you live...

Way OT for this thread! Sorry folks, I've had a few beers!

It still doesn't make me want a C3 any less though...

And wherever Singapore is, Ridney is a cool inhabitant... Hic...

To give you a real answear to that:

Once C3 is out Phenom II x2 550BE(C2) will be phased out and exchanged with the new Phenom II x2 550(C3) without a unlocked multiplier.

Instead we get the new Phenom II x2 555BE(C3) which is a Black Edition with unlocked multiplier.

...and has 100mhz more speed at stock

@PCCriminal: Have you tried to compare C2 and C3 in terms off efficiency in like pi etc?

Any ETA on retail availability? I really could use an upgrade, the 260 doesn't like having to wait after the 5000.

When are these chip expected to come out? Because I am thinking of getting the current 550BE on newegg. But if it isn't too far away, I will wait and hop on to this chip when it comes out. I've been itching to get a new CPU to replace the crappy chip I have now in my sig.

I am thinking of heading for the 555BE route since its only 100 more. At 3.2Ghz with the same TDP, it might be capable of hitting 4 Ghz easily!

This chip is looking awesome for air/water users.

Not to mention 6.5-6.6GHz on LN2 for a dual core Phenom II is nothing to laugh at.

I cannot wait to get my hands on one.
