Pieter-Jan told me you would be fighting back... I had a blast with these cards, but they were terrible clockers and didn't scale at all with volts like a normal 9800GT... I made a small error in my file (Benchzowner spotted it in a flash) I had the same issue as you : SLI available (disabled) and no TAB

Pm me ya file I will add the extra lines and then you can test... I only used the modded 190.62 drivers (I know there are better ones around :p )

I still cant get it. Thanks for your help + time, Leeg + Bill.. but dont break out the celebration cigars yet.

    My next ideas:

    try a different XP build

    try different drivers

CPU-Z comes up as X58 no problem, SLI String installation is no problem..... theres no reason for this to not work???

You got at least SLI available (disabled) ? might be ya current copy with ya previous tries is a bit corrupt... Like I told you on MSN I only used the 190.62 modded drivers and once Bill corrected my error it immediately worked...

I Get SLI available (disabled) every time.. trying another DL of the modded drivers cant hurt. Will try that first tonight.

I BET its some really dumb oversight on my part

    Thanks Leeg

you are the first Scotsmen I know that admits his flaws :p... Maybe just a fresh copy of XP and the 190.62 drivers found here will do the trick ( and stick strictly to the guideline Kenny !) Hardest part is to mod the file which is done by a USA dude that lives in greece, compiling by a belgian... things can only get worse from there :p

Well I try it the other day with 2 8800GTS (G92) but I get 2 problems. The first one was: No boot and video signal. I change the DVI conector position and it work (the boot).
The second problem was: It didn´t load the windows 7...after see the loading screen, nothing happens.......any idea? I can be because It wasn´t a clean installation of Win 7???

Hey bro. Does it work ok in Safe Mode?

What about with only 1 GPU installed?

No, I try the safe mod but it was the same.

If I use 1 video card, it works fine and with no problems.....

    Hey Fellas,
I did this hack couple of days ago.
On Gigabyte EP45 with 2 GTX295. SLI worked out just fine on VistaX64

However my Vantage score was barely any higher than my single gtx 295... What gives?
SLI is enabled. EVGA Precision and GPU-Z see both cards, hell everest can see both cards as well.

    Single GTX 295, overclocked I got 24.1k.

Got barely 20k with 2 cards, no OC... wtf?

    Thanks man,
I wasn't really all that hard broken about it. Single gtx 295 works out just fine in all the games I've played this far.
I just can't figure out why, I reinstall the drivers and all over and over...
Am I supposed to enable something else besides the steps in the guide???

Looks like a misread Device ID.
In device manager, open up the properties of the graphics card, and go to the details and find its device ID ( in the hardware info class ) it should be somethings like VEN_10DE&DEV_0601
You need the numbers from the DEV_ part, and insert them in the device list of the driver's install inf ( nv4_disp.inf ) in the setup's temporary extraction folder.

Different XP install...same problem. Its beginning to feel board/ BIOS related?? I have ACPI v2 enabled in BIOS. Im using the best BIOS for benching.. I dont feel inclined to lose that efficiency, even if its the difference between SLI and no SLI. Realistically, its only 3D01 I'll get a boost in.
