Hi everyone, I have been reading for hours trying to understand, there's a lot more to overclocking these newer systems compared with 8 years ago.
I've been running an E8600 stable for the last 10 months at 4.3Ghz on Air below 50c 1.3375Vcore but I'm keen to see if I can push a little more out of it with more than just raising the Vcore, any advice would be very appreciated.
I did initially try for higher but found beyond 4.3 that it started needing a lot more voltage, I was able to get it almost stable at 4.5 with somewhere around 1.45-1.5+vcore no sure exactly now, I thought it too high and wasn't game to add any more.
I don't know if I should try lowering the multiplier and raising the FSB higher or to just raise the FSB with default 10X multiplier, I only have 1333 ram so I've already had to lower the ram X one notch, I have had the ram stable at 1600Mhz with 1.9v and auto ram timings but didn't know if I was pushing it too hard, atm my FSB is doing 1720Mhz and the ram 1433mhz.
I'm cooling the CPU with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 and have the side of the case off, runs cool as.
