Guys I have a little performance issue with T3eH8.
    I run it on Windows XP SP2 (clean installation) with i7 920 and 3x1GB Corsair 1600 CL8.
When try run SuperPI 16M at 4,2GHz (21x200) I get about 4:17-4:20. This is about 15s to slow.
When I run SPI on the same settings with Vista U 64 i get 4:02-4:03.
When Vista is used, ratio can be dropped to 12 (from 21). In XP I have always 21. I think this Turbo or sth similar issue.
Do you know what's going on?

Cool.. mine drops a bit when under load, but my PSU is a bit old now.. I'm sticking to it because of the custom looks, and using a PSU booster for PCI-E.

Use this i7 turbo tool from unclewebb, at the end of this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=225450
Then you can try disabling whatever you can with the program to see if it forces the multi to stay up.

Also, I dont know why it's much slower on XP than on Vista.. perhaps there are some background apps using CPU time?

    Thx for replay.
It was Large System Cache issue - it was disabled.
Now it's ok - except multi (I check it with this app).

You can make a bootable USB key for DOS also. I use this method http://tw.dficlub.com/tw/modules/new...#forumpost6679 .
I'm on Win7 x64 and I have no problems with flashing in this way.
I don't like flashing in Windows.

Yes, the DFI web site often has problems lately, but you can find all T3EH8 bioses here http://i4memory.com/104644-post1.html.

Quick question guys, I just finished a build last night with the board. When I tried to boot, it flashed on for 1/4 of a second and powers off. After that, it isn't responsive. I tested the PSU on another machine just to make sure that it wasn't the problem. Here is the relevant to my build parts:

    i7 920 D0
    3x2 Ballistix Tracers 12800
    GTX 280
    1250 W power supply

Any ideas? I am going crazy here! LMK if you need more info.

Start from scratch with just the CPU/HS and PSU hooked up to the board on the box. It should at least start up.

    enable eist/ppm/turbo.

if ure temps are hitting high and ure throttling
set vr limit max to enable.

cstate 6 which puts ure 1 core at 22.. so u need more vcore for that.

Doubtful as C1 is normally memory error.

Thanks Praz. Any other tips? If the reset CMOS jumper was in the wrong place, would it cause this? I haven't messed with any jumpers, this is straight out of the box.

The board will not boot if the CMOS jumper is in the "Clear" position.

I will check the jumper settings, I bet that is what is doing it. Otherwise, it's the unplug everything and go up from there.

Thanks for the tips and hints everyone. It turns out that I have a very pissy PSU. It runs great out of the case, as long as you don't push too hard on the socket area. In the case, it is a no go altogether. I hate PSU's....

I would like to know something about bios settings on this motherboard.
As you should know we have CPU VID CONTROL where can be seted the AUTO option or a voltage, then we have also CPU VID SPECIAL ADD LIMIT and CPU VID SPECIAL ADD, the latter is a percent number which, as far as I understand, it add that percent to the CPU VID CONTROL no matter if it is set a voltage or AUTO.

My doubt is I can only add a percentage to the default cpu VID if I have seted CPU VID CONTROL on AUTO? if not, is there a way to get the default cpu vid, so I can set it on bios and then start to add a percentage?

Also and finally, that percentage how is it meassured?

You did understood it correctly! But...
There is no way of reading default CPU VID for Core i7. If you set it on auto all MBs should set vCore to 1.1V with Turbo OFF and to 1.25 with Turbo ON, AFAIK.
For example, if you use 200x20, vCore on Auto and Special Add 110%, it will be 1.1V*110%=1.21V. If you use 200x21, vCore on Auto and Special Add 110%, it will be 1.25V*110%=1.375V.
    I use AUTO + % ( + EIST Enabled ) to have my CPU working @ 2.4GHz 1.232V idle and @ 4.2GHz 1.424V load, using 20W to 150W according to HWmonitor/CoreTemp.
