Booting straight at 1600 C7 (1:4) is extremely difficult with the Phenom II quad cores. I could not get it stable on four different 790FX boards, stable meaning decent voltages and heavy multitasking tasks. Unless you are trying to set a SuperPi record, it really does not matter between C8 and C7 at 1600 in apps or games. In fact, I found 1333 C6 to offer a better balance of performance with 8GB installed.

it´s not that the cpu or the board isn´t capable of running 1600 cl7.
when u read my post u see that 1600 cl7 is possible when i crank up the htt to 240mhz.
it´s just that i can´t change cas latency on the 1:4 divider to anything other than "auto" when i´m on the 1:4 divider.
