    In a very general sense yes, your statement would be correct. But the 5870 is not two 4870s glued together, or a side by side MCM design, or anything like that.

    Noo lol i must of made myself unclear, the power in the of the 4870x2 is found in the single core (die) of the 5870

    Ah okay. At least a 4870x2 without the limitations of Crossfire, plus other enhancements, DX11, and I'm sure a bunch of smaller stuff we don't know about yet.
