    For example, would you describe the GTX 260 as nVidia high end card.
    Only problem is that 5850 is supposed to be a Cypress card. So if Cypress = high end then 5850 = high end. I believe AMD sees it like this:

    Hemlock: ultra high end (4870X2/4890)
    Cypress: high end (4870/4850)
    Juniper: performance (4600-series)
    Cedar + Redwood: mainstream and entry (4500 and 4300-series)

    HD 4850 was NEVER refer to as high end card.
