ATI must be expecting Nvidia to bounce back after a less than stellar GT200 series, they would be fools to think they can just coast.
I think that's just it right here. ATI must be anticipating the GT300 to come out with guns drawn. If I were ATI and have that kind of anticipation, $300 for the 5870 performing @ 4870x2 level a couple months before GT300 would put Just the right pressure on Nvidia
