    Wow for the X3380 price you can buy an i7 920 + X58 Mobo + DDR3 and still have some change to watch "Inglorious Bastards"...

    No kidding! That is the price they said it would be, the old 9650 price plan, but with I7 and I5 now here I doubt theyll sell many at that price. I do wonder if the retails are any better than the ES chips but im not going to find out myself.

    The price might drop. Hard to say with xeons but it's interesting at least. I'm still on 775 and loving it.

    What were those 9550s going for like $150 at microcenter? Geez that would make a nice setup for anyone.

    I guess its just a misprint that newegg says that one doesnt support 64bit... right?

    I need some input from the ud3p v1.6 users. I have another ud3p comin in tomorrow from the egg, i assume it'll be a 1.6. Anybody know what the difference is between the different revision boards? Something would have to be way different for the 1.6 to use a different bios right?

    I was using my 24/7 setup as an example. I am 3d stable @ 4.6Ghz but that is with 1.57V (In Windows) but i am unsure of how much more it can take.

    How do you now how much VTT to give your cpu? I find if i give it more then a certain percentage of the vcore it stops letting me boot. Is there some sort of stage where it starts to help? Ie: for me at 1.4VTT it is unhappy but maybe above 1.55V it will start helping?

    Thanks for your response.

    About the PSU. It helped my MAX OC on GPU by 65 MHZ on the core which i was glad about.

    damn 1,57 is what i used for 4900 its amazing how different temps are on this chips being a lower vid to a higher

    vtt it all depends mate, in my case till 4500 i dont need more than 1,36, but up to there it starts needing it, all depends. You should start to test slowly from a stable setting and then up till you get the most of it stable, then the rest will be bench or just screens.

    Cheers mate and good luck

    Been reading thru this thread as I am planning a q9650 buy. Got a ep45-ud3p buying some g.skill 1100 now. I am just to about to page30 and am reading thoroughly trying to understand the oveclocking and the relationship of settings as they help or hinder sucess. My big question now is what batches have you seen that are most reponsive to overclocking. there seems also to be A B and C codes in the batch numer are they significant ? Meaning A's on average clock better Than B's ? Any help in this regard to help me try to get a good batch will be appreciated. thanks

    Sorry if this has already been asked in this thread.

    as far as the letters A,B,C means that what (lot)

    Example: L149A463-0726

    1st letter or digit = plant code (Malay)
    0 = San Jose, Costa Rica
    1 = Cavite, Philippines
    3 = .............., Costa Rica
    6 = Chandler, Arizona
    7 = .........., Philippines
    8 = Leixlip, Ireland
    9 = Penang, Malaysia
    L = ............, Malaysia
    Q = ..........., Malaysia
    R = Manila, Philippines
    Y = Leixlip, Ireland

    2nd digit = Year of production (2001)

    3rd & 4th digits = week (49th week )

    5th - 8th digits= lot number

    10th - 13th digits = serialization code

    they are made in and it's a luck of the draw if you end up with a good batch number are not it's all about how your parts work together as far as the G.SKill 1100...I wonder if this one below? and the ep45-ud3p board go to the thread on here and what people are using and what kinda luck they are getting out of the board and there parts and Compare notes alot people are willing to help I myself had alot of help with my Biostar I45 from here when..I bought it figuring the bios voltage and the different setting to use to get a Good overclock got a 4.5ghz on my E8400 and 3.9Ghz on my Q9550 both on air and I've seen the A's on the chips get pretty high ..I've only seen the A,B's in the states...I thinks the C's are over seas someone correct if..I'm wrong

    Yes P45 seams to work better off with DDR2, for validation it doesn't really matter as the ram is less important, they are relavant when it comes to stability, DDR2 topping out at 4800Mhz and DDR3 around 4600Mhz.

    C'mon guys, soon autumn is here !

    LOL, 'some' of you probably thought "hey, lower ambient temps, let's break old records !" ?

    Nope, I mean there will be so many new games to play soon: L4D2, CoD MW2 etc etc

    I've had it with OC, I'm disgusted by the amount of time I've "spent" ocing this bastard of Q9650....I already got the freq I wanted from my Q9650, but one thing is still annoying me sooo much: can't find a stable MHz to a 1.344 or 1.360v cpuz ..thats anything above 1.3625v bios...

    I've had 3 good P95 Blend runs: 10hr 4.1GHz/1.296v cpuz, 4.15GHz, 1.312v cpuz and 4176MHz, 1.328v cpuz (and this with x2.40 mem x TURBO, no nothing extra for MCH volts), so scaling is very poor, some odd 25mhz for 3 notches vcore raise...

    Q9650 4176MHz
    OCZ Blade PC2-9200 1114MHz

    Load Line Calibration Enabled
    VCORE 1.3625
    CPU Termination 1.3000
    CPU Reference 65%
    MCH Termination 1.3200
    MCH Reference 67%
    CPU Drive 900mv

    VDIMM 1.8200
    TIMINGS 5-5-5-18 + AUTO
    Performance Enhance Turbo

    P95 Blend 8hr OK (10hr with Std Perf. enhance)

    If I go 4194MHz with same MCH and FSB volts (raise vcore one notch): always BSOD withing 10mins, so here I must raise MCH (more likely than FSB vtt). 1.32v FSB and 1.34v MCH gives max 4hr Blend time

    P95 Errors guys ?

    rounding error - inc vcore and u be 24h OK
    two types of "final result" errors...cant rem them both - inc MCH/mem or lower timings
    BSOD - MCH volts too low, this often 1024K test

    This morning I flashed the BIOS, from F9 to F10e beta...wasn't successful, no way I could get memory work at 2.40 ratio. *sigh, real deep real one*

    Since it was a failure BIOS for my rig, flashed back to F9 and *fingers already caught inside jar* all is working, better than before actually !

    Currently P95 Blending 4230MHz, 1.344v cpuz, 1128MHz mem 5-5-5-18 with Turbo...1.5hrs already.
