Well, one of the guys that works at OcUK posted on the forums saying that they had a Gigabyte rep in last week and they confirmed that the EX58A boards have been cancelled altogether now.
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...9&postcount=26
@ Jalyst, where did you hear about the new Asus board revisions?
I have been thinking about an RIIE for quite a while now, as I really love the design of that board, but if they are releasing new revisions, then I will wait for these to be released to see what they are like before I make another purchase.
yup doesnt worry me either, on another note has anyone noticed a beta bios that can correct the vdroop? does get quite annoying once you start cranking the voltage up
i have llc on but it doesnt seem to do anything.

What would be the X58A ?
Ya, I have heard both said second hand by Gigabyte reps. Maybe it is true, maybe not? I will be able to find after this next week directly from Taiwan
Anyone friends with Dinos22 or Hicookie should be able to tell us for sure, if anyone is please PM them and see if they can get an official reply about it all.

Just FYI
195x21 / X36 / mem x8 @ 7,7,7,20 / HT - ON
Vcore 1.4875v (bios)
VTT 1.46v
Ram 1.76v
Been running my C0 nearly a yr now with those voltages, with a UD5 and air cooling, still not suffered any problems yet.
Oh, and just to add that's with the F4 bios.
What stress program do you guys use?

Linx is probably the best with OCCT, though i find Linx will find errors within 25 minutes or it wont, usually within 10-15 though
OCCT doesn't heat up as much though so it might be stable at the same speeds
if you want to test ram to perfection then a combination of memtest and Linx.

I use LinX, Prime & SuperPi 32m......along with general everyday usage (gaming, encoding, benchmarks, internet etc etc).
I used LinX too. When I used Linx, I used 50 or 100 ran. I also use Prime95 and Intelburntest.
I could pass those, but when I ran prime95 small ftt, I got BSoD it was either 0x000000eb or 0x0000001e. I am thinking these BSoD are could be driver problem.
EDIT:
Can someone enlighten me what exactly these 4 do?
C3/C6/C7 State Support
CPU EIST Function
Bi-directional PROCHOT
CPU Thermal Control

There was supposed to be an asus based x58a too, but like the gigabyte i think it's been axed :-(
I tried to google around for evidence of it becoming available but nothing....
So can you find out for both Asus and Gbyte for sure when you go to Taiwan?
How will you do that, do you have contacts at both organisations?
cheers
I won't be going to Tiawan, I meant my Contact at Gigabyte will be back in the office after the 31st. So I would ask him then, he is pretty fast at getting back to me and the last he told me (in June) was that they would be released at the same time as P55 so they could release all the new Smart 6 features at once.
Of course things may have changed since then as we know, but I will find out from him once he is back next week.
Sorry, I don't know anyone at Asus though, Just Gigabyte

Mate, you are only using 512MB of ram out of your 6GB, no wonder you are passing LinX!!!
Try using max available RAM and then see whether or not you pass the test.
Also, instead of using 20x200 for 4GHz try setting Bclk to 191 and then enabling Turbo Boost for the 21x multiplier.
I found with my last 920 that it needed less Vcore and QPI/Vtt when using 21x191 instead of 20x200...
But if you are BSOD'ing with Prime95, I can pretty much guarantee you will BSOD with LinX when you set it to use the max available RAM instead of just 512MB.
@ BluntSmoker,
I am going to try that.
Since I don't feel comfortable with most of my voltages on auto, what is your voltage on IOH Core and QPI Core?
I just get a BSoD 124, I just add change my QPI/VTT voltage from 1.315v to 1.335v.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so go easy , eh ...
Specs are in my sig. VCore is 1.28125v with LLC enabled, Vtt is 1.2v, BCLK is 195 with Turbo on (195 x 21 = 4.095 Hz). HT is on (8 threads). Mem ratio is 6 giving 1170 MHz. Uncore multiplier is 16. Vdimm is 1.64v. IOH and ICH core are 1.2v. Everthing else is stock (I think). All power saving settings are on. F7 bios. Memory settings are 6-6-6-16 and Turbo.
I can run Prime 95 stable (v25.11, build 2) for 5+ hours. with a max temp of 79 deg C (recorded by Real Temp 3.0.) for the hottest core (the lowest is ~74 deg C). Idle is 40 / 41 deg C (for an ambient of 25 - 26 deg C).
So, all good so far.
However, when I run LinX (v0.6.1) after about 35 seconds I get an alarm from the MB speaker, as if a fan has failed, but max core temp is only about 74 deg C. However, even if I set all such alarms (including the CPU temp alarm) to off this still happens.
Any clues as to what is causing this? As it stands, this is preventing me from pushing higher
P.S. I have briefly run Prime 95 for ~10 minutes as a check (after which I stopped it) with a BCLK of 220 with Vtt at 1.24v and a low CPu multiplier of 12, so I am pretty sure that the board is good to go higher than 195.

Can someone explain what exactly are these for?

Yeah you need to run Linx at the highest memory setting for proper testing
With 220 you might be right on the edge of stability as mine seems to hit a BCLK wall at 220 and likes to BSOD at anything higher. I can run the chip at about 4.6ghz but no matter how much voltage i dump into the core i cannot get any stability out of it past 220. Might have to try winding the multipliers back and see if it still has an issue.
Try dropping your ram command rate to 2N instead of 1N that helps with stability alot, you might need more VTT depending on the speeds your pushing from the 12GB

SimpleTECH,
Thanks, I recall I had trouble posting with Uncore lower than 16, but I will try your suggestion and see if it helps. Appreciated.
BTW - how much better is your w/cooling over air? I am tempted to go down the HK 3.0 route but I'm not sure if the gains are worth it (obviously this is not a real value decision - as a good w/cooling setup would cost me ~£240).

@Mr.Fixit, you will need to run your mem multi @ 6x if you want to use anything lower than 16x on Uncore, as the rule is that Uncore should be twice that of the RAM multi, you can set it higher than double, but if you trying going lower it results in BSOD.
I have found that with my UD5's, I cannot use the 12x Uncore multi when using a 6x mem multi, that refuses to POST for me altogether, when using 6x on mem, I have to use 13x uncore for my system to POST.
As for WC, I am going to be purchasing parts to setup a custom loop for my rig, I will be using the HK 3.0 as well after seeing a few builds where people are using them, as the temps compared to air are fantastic.
I seen someone on another forum with temps of 61c full load @ 4GHz, that is amazing compared to air imo.
I am gonna need some help with RAM timings
I can't pass linx and prime95 now. When I ran Linx, it stopped at 9 sometimes at 13 passes. When I ran p95 blend, I got BSoD which were 0x0000000A, 0x0000001E and 0x0000003B.
I have a feeling the culprit is my RAM, but I could be wrong. I did not get any of these BSoD's 50, 101 and 124
