Me either, I think Teyber broke XS with all his awesome evaporators. She can't take much more of this captain, she's breaking up!

    <edit>
Don't worry, I saved the day, just my presence fixed everything. Thank me later.

as i have a 20% off coupon. sure the grizzly 10x22 is a 3x better lathe, but $1100 is a lot of money when you already have a mill

I have been buying mill tools from harbor freight for years and I have one of their small Central Machinery mills and have used it for 5 years. All I did was take it apart, micro polish all the surfaces, a few brass shims instead of plastic and good synthetic lubricants and it is a good as the high dollar stuff. The steel isn't the very best but if you "tighten up" and properly lube all the wear surfaces, it is great stuff. I did upgrade the drive shaft bearings to nitride coated sealed bearings because ball bearing they use are not acceptable, but that was only $25.00.

Try looking up some reviews on the equipment and see what is said about it.
Another place is MSC, or check criaglist, or ebay.

I know you have heard all of this before but I just had to say it.
Yes i agree with you however its from the sieg factory which would be my third machine from this factory. this same lathe is offered by brands like grizzly et cetera. QC not as good from HF though lol, however nearly half the price after 20% off and no shipping. Take it all apart, kerosene the red grease and re-oil and grease it and you have a nice machine

Please feel free to call, but you might not want advice on it till its completely up and working LOL once its up i would love to help ya mate it can be done for a very reasonable price. take a look at the deepgroove with the g540 controller. Super cheap "turnkey" milling machine.

Lol thats not my bead blasting setup, mines so ghetto! 2 usps boxes and a ebay bead blaster. it works though heh

    thanks man

    well folks...

13 months after i decided i was going to do the cnc project, 7 months after i first tore down the mill to start the cnc project... 7 months of pure frustration, failure, regret, and a huge dump of self esteem... all made worthwhile tonight

It doesn't seem like a big deal but i cut my first part on the mill tonight which was actually created by me on dolphin cad/cam. Its such a big deal for me because so many times i told myself i wasn't talented enough for this project, i wouldn't succeed, et cetera and it turns out that isn't true This project is vastly more complex then most people realize and much more then i realized...

The part doesn't look like much but its a "miniature muff", because i had 2.25" od ldpe when the muffs will be 2.75" and just wanted to get started, however it was very cool to watch the mill go around. I had it sprinting at 35 ipm so the finish is pretty bad. The camera died but i can run it again and take a video of the machine in action if anybody wants

Looks like im coming back in the game

Its midnight so i didn't feel like deburring the part, thats why it looks a little messy. it came out super cool looking in person this part has no function i just thought it would look cool...

    hey!

It is definately strong enough its actually not too small at all. it is in the "upper end" of the benchtop mills.

I make the steppers on this mill yeah i use a saw that looks like this

    http://www.mini-lathe.org.uk/images/..._on_arbour.jpg

which allows me to cut the steps on the mill. Why i havn't made any evaps yet is i gotta figure out how to program this into dolphin... harder then it looks lol.

    Cheers mate!

    Nice work

I was just wondering, if a evap has more mass/bigger would it hold load better?

    Thanks
