What BIOS cstkl1? I can't see the picture, I'm at work.

EDIT: NM, I saw your running 7/24 BIOS.

I have some questions now that I've tried 4.0GHz.... what is the average BLCK people are getting with this board? I can't get passed 211.

I can get 220x19 Hyperpi stable.
Max into windows was around 230 with a PCI vidcard, IDE drive and PCIe clck at 1xx.
Check Eva2000's posts about very high bclcks.

    after having 2 C0, 3 D0's 920's and two 950's
    and 2 UT's 2 DK's , 2 R2e's , one Classi
    and two Dom Gt 2k C7, 3 T1's, 1 Blade

It depends on proc, mobo and ram combi.

some proc work great on any mobo
some mobo work great in any proc
and some ram work great with any proc and mobo
    but not all do.

BCLK211 has been my favorite and "sweet spot" for the low-volt summer OC. I have been running @4GHZ(211x19) 1.15 with almost no tweaks (VVT=1.21v and NB core=1.13v, BIOS set). It has passed many stability tests (including 11 hour-Prime, Hyperpi32M and 10 pass LinX), and it has been in 24/7 use with no issue for a while now.

@4GHZ(19x211) requires less Vcore than 20x200 on my set up, and if your setup can handle it, then you should try it first and see if it is the same for you too.

I have been experimenting with @4.2GHZ(20x210) 1.24v lately and it seams to be stable with minimum tweaks too (VVT=1.21v and NB core=1.13v, BIOS set, again).

But I'm staying away from too high RAM (>200MHZ) and Uncore (>4200MHZ) for 24/7 use. Because it requires too much tweaks (including "usanfe 24/7 VVT"). I'm keeping the RAM at x8 (7-8-7-20 1688MHZ 1.65v). I find 18/16/8 (QPI/Uncore/RAM) to be easiest to stabilize with less tweaks for 24/7 use.

Sam, when you set 1.13v in bios for NB what do you get in SG?

NB Core 1.13v (BIOS set) ends up as 1.12v in SG and Everest.

So it is actually doping, but the VVT is always going up on my setup. Specially under heavy load and I'm still wondering how much "real VVT" will show up on a multimeter. Fortunately I'm far from "unsafe VVT", but VVT=1.23v (BIOS set) can end up all the way up to 1.28v , in SG and BIOS-report.

    Guys,

a little info in case anyone here is having trouble with the DFI (Bios 0619), a HX850 and newer D0 920's.

Earlier today I was trying to get 4Ghz stable on a new build I just finished. CPU stayed extremely cool (below 60C running LinX with 11GB of ram ) but would always shut down after 1-2 mins of LinX. I tried lots of things to no avail, until I disabled the Anti-Vdroop feature (set "Vdroop control" to "enable" in bios which actually disables the feature) and I noticed a difference at once. The VRM wasn't making aggressive squealing noises any more, and my overclock was suddenly stable.

Just thought you'd like to know, as all CPUs I've had so far on my own private DFI didn't care about the Anti Vdroop feature.

Be careful with that 19x211 I found with the exact same settings you have alot of my games would turn into a slide show even though CPU-Z and RealTemp both showed running full 4ghz. 20x200 did it a little bit too, but 21x191 didn't slow down at all.

Some games were fine, others were a slide show and was very strange

jcool your board squeals like mad to with that PSU? Mine squealed it with vdroop control on and off

    High BCLK problems with 0724

This is max I can do with my W3520 and DFI:

    Watercooled with PA120.3 + BIP3, DCC and HK 3.0, 21.5 ambient.

Previously I could get to 235 bclk with bios 0508, but after flashing 0724 I cant seem to get much passed 223. Even if I flash back to 0508 I'm still stuck at 223 now.

Anyone having success with high bclk and 0724 ?

Oh well, it's a lot older than any w3520 too...

Yes, its a very nice W3520. In the end I'll probably end up at around 4.5 24/7 and with temps in the 70's. But was hoping to play with some high bclk and 06 benching first.

My old GB DS3P squealed a bit when running 4 GHz with my old Q6600, but runs just fine still.

Hey guys, 2 more questions - I figured out the ram thing

My OS 64bit vista home, read 6gb and used it i suppose, before I decided to overclock. I had no choice. my rams were ddr3 2000 and they were only running at 1066mhz, its bs.

after I OC'ed vista only read 2gb. What went wrong?

    - second question :

WHen updating the bios. Latest version or a version before it? the latest one only says like memory stability or something, but the older ones look more useful, are all the past updates included in the latest bios update?

Dude, you may want to read up on some basic overclocking tipps before you launch right into running 2Ghz ram (yes, 2Ghz ram is an overclock. The CPU only supports 1600Mhz officially).
Generally you need to watch the POST screen (disable the logo post thingy) on whether it displays all your ram (should say 6.......k) after you changed the ram settings. If not, you need to tweak VTT and Vdimm settings. Generally for 2Ghz ram speed you'll need at least 1,37-1,39VTT depending on BCLK, ram, CPU, timings etc. Maybe more. Be advised that going over 1,4V VTT on air might be dangerous.

You can't just plug and play 2Ghz ram, not on this board and not on any other (actually on some you can, but they set VTT so high that they'll kill your CPU after a few weeks...)

I found the 0619 bios to work pretty well.

You are not missing anything! I like this MB very much and have all the good words about it , but WTF is that?!?! I tried everything! It's so stupid! I was thinking of borrowing 3rd GTX280 to test TRI-SLI, but now must buy usb sound just for testing purposes.
