    Project: my lil LianLi v2000 / PC-A71F

Actually I don't have that much time at all but well, my GF's tower looks like
Atm she uses my old Skulltrail for video and audio editing so it is time for a nice tower too and ofc watercooled

But I think I gonna buy her a new Nehalem server board too, we'll see.

    The tower, a v2000:

Alrdy unmounted the hdd racks to have room for the watercooling equip.

    The watercooling will consist of:
    1x XSPC Quad Radiator
    2x XSPC Dual Radiator
    1-2 Laing D5 (depends if 1 or 2 loops)
    EK Res
    black 19/13 tubing
    Bitspower comp fittings
    Feser One clear/blue uv fluid

The idea is, to mount the quad, one dual and the pumps in the bottom area and one dual in the top.
Gonna use a Lian Li psu extender to get more room in the bottom area for the watercooling and mount a Koolance shroud at the top.

At first, the top. Taped the shroud to have a look how it will fit:

And a few minutes later, the jig saw did the rest ^^

There should be enough room for the second radiator in the front part of the shroud.

Hope that the other parts will arrive at the weekend so I can go on. I alrdy replaced the stock LianLi fans with some Enermax Everest and gonna replace one of the bay covers with a hot swap hdd cage from LianLi.
But atm, I don't know which fans I gonna use for the radiators. They should be strong enough but on the other hand I don't want any fan controllers.

That's all for now, hope I can show you more during the next days =)

I love em too but actually it is to small for my system ^^

btw: any recommendations for the radiator fans? don't want to use any fan controllers and on the other hand, they should be strong enough...

For applications without monitoring/controller, I've always had success with the Scythe S-Flex SFF21F model.

Or you can go for gentle typhoons, many belive they preform better than the Scythe S-flex's cause they have higher static pressure, if your running without a fan controler, id personally go for either 1450's or 1850's......they make virtually no noise!

i have two 1850's atm, waiting for 4 more to be deliverd..... there is litraly NO stock of these fans in the uk at the moment

Out of curiosity, how many hard drives are you planning to put into this beast? One thing I've noticed about all the "beautiful" WC builds is that they've got a lot of flexibility chopping off hard drive mounting brackets, etc, because they tend to have a minimal amount of HDDs. I'm looking forward to seeing what you are doing with this guy

well that's true but it depends on the tower too. for example, I have 9 hdds and 2 ssds in my mm and could mount a few more ^^
but for the v2000...well I will use the lian li ex-h34 hdd cage for 4 drives. don't know where to mount the 2 ssds atm, maybe at one of the fans, directly to the 5,25" plate or maybe somewhere else

the bottom part will be for the watercooling parts but I have to wait for the radiators to check the possibilities.
my first thought was to mount one dual in the front part of the top and a dual + quad at the bottom. on the other hand, I should be able to mount a quad at the top and a triple + quad at the bottom...well I have to wait till the parts arrive, at least I ordered 2x dual, 1 triple, 2 quad xspc to have all options left
and in the end...my gf has to decide

    That's true

I know what it's like having a "boss." I was just curious because I have 10 HDDs, no SSDs (yet) and I'm working in a LL V1000

I just bought one of the ABS/Tagan black pearl cases (V2000 rebadge), and i was curious to see what others are doing. I have an EX-34NB 3:4 converter, but it won't help me much if I need at least 6 other bays. I still have to look around at the layout of the case to really decide what I want to do...

I always enjoy your builds sargatanas, I'll be watching this one as well. At least if you go missing for a while, we know the lady friend was not happy about the design decision you made.

u could use 2 ex-34, keep one of the original hdd racks and there should still be enough room for a triple at the bottom ^^

well I think she will like it since she uses a very old one, something like these old IBM towers xD
...hope I can finish my external unit after this one =)

few case parts arrived today and the tower is already loaded with feser ^^

the hdd cage or shall I say, a hdd trap?

it's a bit longer than I thought but it still fits =)

but actually...I think I won't be able to mount the Velociraptors, think their sata/power connector is different. gonna check that later on.

the psu extender, don't know if I will use it. could gain 6cm but on the other hand it would stand outside the case

but I have a huge problem....this is my last one

have to order some or I won't be able to go on

well it isn't that easy to get dr pepper @ germany
    this works too

cools the whole system but to much + summer temperatures = causes system shutdown

still thinking bout the front...think it would look better if the dvd drive would be at the lowest spot...but then, there is no possibility to mount the bezel.

the hdd cage is quite nice, have to hide the key for it
only thing that suxx is that the connectors are pointed at the wrong direction.

I like that hot swap bay, pretty nice. The length is actually good, covers that gap perfectly.

I had some time today and thought I should check the psu extender.
took the dremel and few minutes later it was done ^^

but well I don't know if I should keep it or take the other backplate again.
about 6cm more space and the psu fan is pointed in the right direction but on the other hand, it's 6cm standing outside the case.

I don't think it's that big of a deal if you have your computer against a wall, or something, you'll hardly see it.

Think of it this way, you can hide a can or two of Dr. Pepper back there as a secret stash

that PSU extender is nice man. Did you make it yourself, or did you buy it?
