Hi guys this is one of my first posts for overclocking, been on this website for a little while now and reading through some of this thread, alot of great stories with this board.
So after getting my gear together this is what I've got and what the settings and the results are below...
Mobo: GA-EP45-UD3P (Bios - F9)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz (currently overclocked to 3.49GHz)
Ram: G.Skill DDR2 4GB Kit PC8800 1100MHz
Case: Cooler Master HAF-932
CPU Fan: Can't remember the name but massive heatsink and fan
Graphics: 1 x Gigabyte GTX-285 and 1 x Geforce 7900 (for tripple monitor setup)
HDD: a couple of HDD...
I attempted to overclock my CPU, just by changing the bus frequency and RAM ratios.. At the moment I've overclocked it to 3.496GHz with ram sitting at 1165Mhz and ran PRIME for 10hrs without a problem. I didn't want to adjust any of the voltages as I wouldn't know where to start. If I go up just one more cpu frequency then the system crashes after 1 second in PRIME, so I've left it at 437 for now.
Below is all my BIOS settings, just wondering if you could look through it, see if I need to change anything to see if I can push this puppy any further. I prodominately use this computer for playing games (rFactor) and surfing the net etc...
At the moment as I said, everything is working fine, I ran PRIME for 10 hours and the temperature of the CPU did not go over 55CCode:******Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.)****** Robust HELP!
Started messing with ET6 and when the machine rebooted, it went to the GB splash screen and just stays there. Have tried clearing the CMOS (with and without the battery) and have pulled the batt and unplugged for an hour. Still splash screen only. Have tried delete, F buttons, and tab to no avail.
Any ideas?

Hey, can someone give me a link explaining how the CPU termination and reference voltages work and what they affect?
I've been trying to get my Q9550 stable at 4ghz for a few hours on the UD3P and have been so far unsuccessful. I know it is those settings as raising the CPU voltage does not seem to make any difference.
I tried some of the settings other ppl. found successful, and had a no-go so far.
Thanks

This link is the best I can offer ** How to setup CPU/MCH GTL Ref Voltages Vs. EasyTune ** , it´s done by Lsdmeasap over at Tweak Town Gigabyte forum, great work from him.

MCH Ref is likely what you need to adjust adpr_02, along with Vtt of course.
If you need any help with the guide let me know. I plan to re-write it so it is more clear but i just have not had time yet

Okay, I read that guide twice, and I'm not sure I'm understanding it 100%. I get what's going on with Et6, but:
Say that I have my VTT at 1.2 and set the reference voltage to x. I now raise the VTT voltage to 1.28 and now my reference voltage goes to x + .050. What's the point of that?
Do you OC pros set your VTT to whatever you desire and then tweak the refference voltages, or go back to stock on the VTT and then set the refference and raise the vtt?
I'm sure that's where I'm getting stuck. I need some help to get started with some pointers and I'll tweak the rest myself. Here are my settings so far. whenever I change the reference and vtt my pc is either completely unstable (won't start) or will run linpack for 2 tests after which it will error.
Any advise on how to set up the references is appreciated. thanks

Nevermind bluestang, if you need specs you're clearly in the wrong thread. this is about the UD3 P45 boards, and all the boards supported by this thread should have a similar system.
But to humor you... E5300 @ 3.9Ghz, UD3P, 8GB of RAM (same results with 2 dimms removed).
The rest is insignificant.
I know I'm not the only one laughing at this!
Quads and Duals require different settings on these boards, as do 65nm and 45nm versions of them. Your processor and memory have alot to do with what you can accomplish.
If you don't want to listen to any of us when we ask for more info so that we can help you, then don't be surprised when no one helps you!

Hey I used those settings you recommended and my pc was blue screening like mad. I had to raise the CPU Ref to 8.35, and MCH core to 1.37 to get into windows.
I immagine this question's been asked a bilion times, but what is the highest voltage you would put through these (q9550)?
CPU ref
MCH ref
CPU Core
I looked online and the answer is usually 1.3625 or something, but I see people putting 1.45 through these quads all the time...
After drooling over these boards for 6 months - i finally pulled the trigger, My old abit Quad GT fried another set of D9 so I got this with a set of 2x2gb G.Skill PI memory...
Too bad I still have this e6400. Once upon a time I ran it at 4100mhz air/bench we will see if it will hit that after a few years of 24/7 clockin.
Next stop - wolfdale.
You really need to start at the beginning. What you've done is allow your motherboard to set whatever it wants as your voltages. This can really fry your processor fairly quickly.
I suggest you start with the basics... Set all your voltages to the stock settings. Up the fsb until it's unstable. Prime... rinse and repeat, over and over and over.
ok guys ive probably gone against my better judgement but im going to get another gigabyte boar for my Q9550. instead of a asus mobo. im looking ath these two.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...128358&bop=And
which is better and why:::::

Only difference is the UD3P has 2xPCI-E slots. Otherwise they should overclock the same.
I see a lot of you with some impressive memory scores for p45.... Mainly you andressergio... i h8 uNo really, nice cpu and setup you have there. I've been runnin 8gigs pretty Conservative. I already have a good 2x2 set of gskill http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231201
i have them paired with these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231246 I could never get the 8500 to do what i wanted so i ordered a set of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231271 to be here tomorrow. Anybody tried these new tridents yet? I plan on pairing them with the 9600pi. Anybody have any luck runnin 8gb at high frequency on this board? If the trident clock well alone i may order another set. I'll let you guys know tomorrow how they work out..
Also anybody have anymore news on the ep45-ud5? Thanks!!!
