Is the question for me Leeghoofd or someone else? If the question is being asked of me then the answer is that I was trying to get everything I could get out of the system during each test HT enabled or disabled. I can test at the same 4.6GHz clocks (HT on or off) but I can’t get the processor cold enough to test at 4.75GHz with HT on. If you or anyone else would like to see a direct clock for clock HT on/off comparison in Vantage @4.6GHz I can run the other Vantage test with HT disabled with matching GPU clocks?

Well just flashed on 1504 bios and looks good. I think it fixed my issue. Every time I unplugged PSU and plugged in with 1406.... the board was acting crazy....sometimes it wouldn't post and i could see OVECLOCKING FAILURE on the screen. Or every time while on Windows loading screen.... BSoD all the time.

Now i unplugged and plugged in PSU with 1504 bios and it went smooth into Windows 2 times in the row...no BSoD. So i hope it fixed my issue...

One thing i found out.... with 1406 bios my setup was 157*27 with 4238MHz final overclock.

Now with 1504 bios it's still 157*27 but it show's 4252Mhz final overclock.

I gained 14 Mhz just with bios upgrade...........................LOL

BTW 1504 is final or beta ?

Later Asus BIOS improve the clock generator signal. Instead of under-reporting the clock the signal is automatically now boosted by about 0.5MHz to 1MHz hence the change you are seeing. Your BCLKL now running at 157.5MHz. This was mostly done for higher BCLKs where the drop-off was visible but it also affects lower BCLKs now by providing a small boost.

Today I loaded Win7 64-bit into the R2E and played with the Returned RMA'd Kingston Ram. These puppies easily do DDR3-2175 with 8-8-8-24-1N Timings.

I cannot push any higher because this Board has a B Clock limit between 217.5-218.0.

I just got a R2E for my i7 build and I was wondering, does W7 RC work with the XFi sound card that comes w/ the board? I remember when the first stages of the beta came out, I couldn't get drivers for my other Creative Labs Xtreme Gamer sound card?

This would also require that I get the computer working with a non-defective cpu

So finally how would you assess Rampage II Extreme in comaprison to other MB in its price range lik BloodRage, DFI UT ? Few months ago have heared that Asus needs much more QPI voltage than its rivals , what about BLCK ? any limitations ? I am not up to date , maybe Asus has improved their mobo with newer bioses , what would You (users) say ? Would it be good deal taking RIIE nowadays ?

    Great MOBO

I have not used other i7 MOBO's but I chose the RIIE because of the solid state caps and because of good experiences with other ASUS Mobos.
For me, this is a great Mobo, the BIOS is perhaps overkill but the connector placement, the reliability (so far) and the results have been excellent.

Yeah but would it be a good choice for 24/7 , with 200x21 ? That high QPI/VTT volt. makes me worry a bit... What temps on PWM ?

I have been running 16 7 for months. I do not leave my systems on all night for various reasons.
My oldest ASUS Mobo is a p4E800 Dlx, six years old now and I also have a four year old Commando.
Look, I have been in the electronics design, assembly and fab business for 40 years. Solid state caps and a quality PCB make all the difference. All I can do is give you my opinion and experience. When I buy for myself I always buy on quality and not on price.

Interesting, that is the same BCLK limit i hit at 218x21, did raising PCIe clock help?

Nope - Raised PCIe Freq to 130 incrementally and it did not help BClk limit.

Just got my D0 and R2E before the weekend, and it's looking good so far :>
Running a bit hot, even at the low voltages. I reached the point where I'd have to up the voltage a bit if I wanted another 100mhz, but it's gonna have to wait for my new case and water cooling.

Its running on a Cogage True Spirit and the ram is untweaked on that screenie. Its G.Skill 16000 Tridents, currently going at 1532 1.5v 7-7-7-24.

Didn't check the batch nr before I installed it, but will check as I swap cooling sometime next week. Hes very easy to clock til 4ghz, but gets a bit tricky after I reach 3600 uncore and 200+ bclk, although I didn't try very high VTT only up to 1.23ish where i had it stable for about 30min prime. So I presume I'm going to need 1.35 for running my ram at 2000.

RIIE is always a good deal it runs superb and where did you get the info about higher qpi ?

That clock is actually very good and temps should be fine in a well ventillated case. and about those volts, definately something is wrong

130 is just too much, carefull so u don't damage your grafix card. 104mhz worked for me

I have the exact same issue.. just updated my BIOS with the 1504 one on the first page so fingers crossed it works..

@ trt740... The cold boot issue is as much as described above.. turning off the mains leads to an unstable OC where either the PC won't boot properly or gives BSOD's... In my case I'm only getting the BSOD's..
