Since last time I've removed the other 5,25-pillar without thinking clearly, now there's nowhere to mount the baycovers, lol!

Anyway, did a quick render of the new baycover idea.

I've also ordered the following from Tom at ChilledPC.

    EK-NB/SB 6 plexitop
    EK-NB 780i plexitop
    EK-Supreme LT plexitop
+ Nickel Plating for all three.
Anodised 120.2 Rad Grill with Mounting Holes (15mm spacing)

Now for the boring part, the waiting.

Yeah, MurderMod has a big influence on me and my current designs.

This is still a early wip though, I'm thinking of 6 pcs of Sunbeam Bubble-lights and change the diodes to some weak white ones, dimming the lights through the openings.

I want the front to resemblance to a waterfall.

The red was just to get some colour in the render, looked so dull.

If you would like to share som thoughts or ideas for the drivebay cover, please do.

    Edit:
Threw together a HDD bracket, I think the storage problem is fixed now.
This will be placed vertically where the old 5,25" pillar was located.

I might do some paper modelling of it later, just for you MomijiTMO.

This piece will probably be mounted to a plexi support beam.

Actually think i liked the original res mounting better then the acryl one, seems like a nice build

Might be, it's kinda early to tell but I think it'll turn out pretty good when it gets cleaned up and I get that HDD bracket in place.

Anyways, redid the baycovers a bit, I've also asked Charles at MurderMod if they could fabricate it for me, since it's MM inspired and all. Sounds like a pretty fair deal imo.

The holes are a bit more teardrop shaped.

I'm going to do some new revisions on the baycovers later tonight, here's the planned layout of my case.

I think it'll look pretty clean IRL.

    Looks great Laine!

I'm liking the tapered lines vibe - keep working at it.

Perhaps even trying to offset the tapers, top and bottom...

Those bay covers look great. That gray one would look cool with that red. Kind of look like blood running down it or something

Actually, I'm dropping that idea and starting over again.

Anyways, made a stripped down version of my case to see if everything fits.

It feels pretty much like the ultimate modders case to me, compact but you'll find loads of space if you just look.

I'm actually thinking of putting a 360 X-changer in it ATM, but I'm not entirely sure yet.

It would actually fit in the lower chamber, but it'll be really tight.

    Hi !

    Nice !

I agree with you to say it's a fantastic case for the modders, you can put a 360 rad in th top and a 240 rad in the roof if you are crazy
I have a V1K too and i've designed a frontplate too a few weeks ago

But i don't have the time to finish it

Ps : Sorry for my very very bad English ...

Moitrux: Looks really good, you should find some time to finish it!

Completed the lower chamber's LC, the first dimensions I used for the X-Changer were wrong, but now everything fits.

    Feels kind of empty though.

I decided that the last design would be a bit too easy to actually build, taking all the fun and excitement out of it.

I fitted a Feser X-Changer 120 in the front, will probabely be passive if I don't find a better solution.
This is the result of late night brainstorming with wierd friends, I grew quite fond of the idea.

It's about 3mm of clearance at most.

    Cheers.

    I'm currently designing a V1000z for a friend as a side project.

Fun fact: With the PSU-extender and a normal ATX-PSU there's room for a 120.3 radiator in the lower chamber, as long as you don't use a X-changer.

The X-changer is 7mm too long and ends up half way through the PSU.

Upcomming renders will be much higher quality.
Stepping up to 8800GT from an old 7600go is noticeable, still miss my GTX260 though.

Anyway, no time for whining, lol.

Had this idea in my head including a snowflake in the old design, and so I did.
I don't know if this was a step in the wrong direction or not, we'll see when my font render works, for some reason AutoCAD says it's intersecting itself and therefore can't be extruded.

Hey when you end up building that 1000z could you make another project log?
Id really like to see what you do with it.
and about that rad fitting in the bottom
are you counting in the 120mm fan mount in the front or are you cutting it out?

The V1000z belongs to a friend of mine, I will only be designing/rendering it for him.
I could ask him to make a log when it get's going.

In order to fit a 120.3 in the bottom it'll have to be on some kind of risers, as fans or something similar.
You'll also have to cut out the fan mount, yes.
The inlet/outlet side has to face the front.

I can do a render of it later if you want.
It might take some time though, unlike SketchUp there is no model libary for ACAD.
I'm having to do everything from scratch by myself.
