You did check/enable the proper settings per USB Mouse/Keyboard after you flashed right? << Just checking to be sure.

If it is just settings disabled by default and things work after you use a PS/2 to set your settings then they may have disabled things by default fro a reason?

I got my new mobo last Friday, but I never got the chance to test it until last night because I ended up being admitted to hospital the same day that the mobo got delivered with a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and had to spend 6 days in the respiratory unit with a chest drain fitted to remove the air out of my chest cavity to allow the lung to reinflate again!!!

Really scary tbh... anyhow, the new mobo hasn't changed anything, still only 2 out of 3 sticks of RAM is being recognized, so I called OcUK this morning and got given another RMA number for the processor...

The guy I talked to on the phone told me that there has been a couple of people that have had to return their i7 processors because of this problem...

The processor was the first thing that I had suspected when I first put this rig together, and this will now be the second time I have returned it to OcUK.. the problems were really intermittent when I first shipped it back, and they weren't really thorough with their testing methods neither, as they only ran small FFT's in P95, and 32bit Linpack in OCCT for 3 hours each, which isn't enough time for the problems I was experiencing back then to show up..

However, now that it only picks up two sticks of RAM, they should be able to see straight away that the processors IMC is faulty, and they will get a replacement shipped out to me ASAP...

This system has caused me nothing but problems from day one, I now have enough hardware (minus a processor) to build 2 i7 rigs!!!

I actually wish that I had just stuck with AMD processors and built a PhenomII rig instead, because in all the years I have used AMD chips I have never had any issues at all, but the first time I put together an Intel based system, I end up having all these problems....

Anyway, it should all be sorted once I get another processor...

Oh man, that doesnt sound to good? hope it works out for you with that.

You must have a whole lot of unluck when you bought your stuff, your problem is not so common, and you getting it is bad luck

never had such problems, Im just have bad luck getting bad clockers for the most.. dont turn your back on it yet though! Intel is the superior(no not a fanboy) and the luck will turn for you! this is just at test :P keep tryin!

Hi Infa, I hope you are right man, and I hope that a new processor will sort out all of these issues I have been experiencing with this system...

Although, in saying that, I thought that buying a new PSU would sort the problem, and that didn't, then I thought buying another set of triple channel ram would sort the problem, and that didn't neither, so I figured buying another mobo would make all the problems dissapear, and that didn't work neither!!!

As I said, when I first put this build together, and I experienced these problems, I immediately thought that I had a bad CPU, and I RMA'd it straight away, but the problems were intermittent, and the tech's at OcUK never spent enough time testing my processor for these problems to arise, therefore they said that the CPU wasn't faulty...

I now wish that I took them up on their offer to send it straight back to have it thorougly tested, because then I wouldn't have went out and bought all this new gear!!!

But at least at the end of the day I will have two i7 rigs to play about with... I just hope that once I get a replacement CPU that I don't experience anymore problems with this system!!!

    ::edit::

It is really frustrating, because I can get it running stable @ 4GHz with 4GB of RAM in Dual Channel mode with only 1.214v Vcore, and the RAM running @ 1600MHz on this new mobo, I just wish that it would pickup all 6GB of RAM!!!!

    Guys, anyone noticed that?

I can pass LinX 20 passes with 1.25v, but I fail prime with 1.25v, 1.26v pass prime, but 1.26v fail occt, 1.28v pass all

1.25v = LinX pass, prime95 fail , occt medium test fail
1.26v = LinX pass, prime95 pass, occt medium test fail
1.28v = LinX pass, prime 95 pass, occt pass

God knows man, I just stood up out of my computer chair and got this really bad pain in the left side of my chest, and it got steadily worse to the point that I was struggling to breathe!!!

It was probably due to all the stress I have went through with this PC!!!

Idle temps are around 42 to 45c, and full load hits around 83 to 86c... not ideal really, but my HSF is pretty poor... also these are temps with it built outside of the case, when I had it built inside my case, I couldn't Prime with 4GHz as the temps would go right up into the mid 90's...

I will be purchasing a TRUE 120 Extreme sometime this week...

Hmmm, I can't see both of my sets of RAM being faulty... also I have tested each module individually, and they ran 20+ passes of Memtest boot disc without a single error...

Surely memtest would have picked up any faulty RAM??

I personally think it is the CPU, also the guy from OcUK who I talked with on the phone today told me that there have been several people returning i7's because of this issue, and that it was the processor that was the issue...

I don't think I could have been unlucky enough to have purchased 2 sets of faulty triple channel RAM!!!!

Im really interested in why you have changed pci-e, and all those small changes?
do you need it for stability?

Nah not sure if i do but it was things i tried along the way that helped alittle to keep my Vcore down. The last 2 changed i made (1 of which was the PCI-E) made it stable.

Man, this rig has a mind of its own... I turned it on just now, and looked at the POST screen and it booted up with all 6GB of RAM this time...

I really don't understand this at all???

I bet when I restart again it will only see 4GB... this is really frustrating!!!

Have you played with the Round Trip Latency at all?

One day i was fiddling with that and with certain combination i would loose 2gigs or 4gigs, also noticed (on a older BIOS tho/haven't noticed lately) leaving RTL on AUTO the values would change by themselves on a reboot/start?

@sunn I noticed you have C1E and Eist enabled, does your vcore also get lower in idle or only the speed goes down?
