These new drives must be coming soon. X25-M 160GB drives are going on ebay for $500 new.

Crucial is set to announce their 34nm drives on the 20 as far as I know.

I would assume Intel will follow fairly soon after.

Would make sense to announce in August, give a few samples out to reviewers and then release in September... just in time for Windows 7 to launch in October

I saw those. Isn't it is a little bit curious that vendors on EBAY would have X25-M's for closeout but Newegg and such would not?

I am assuming that anyone who bought such a drive off EBAY would have a full INTEL warranty based on the serial number and date of manufacture?

Our biggest e-shop in Greece has them as expected soon (which usually means about a week time) since Friday. Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about speeds. Their name is postville and only mlc.

If those prices are in EUROS, the 160GB is over $625 USD and the 80GB is $325.
This would be a savings of ZERO from the current pricing if introduced at these prices.

Why would you expect any savings? The drives are most likely faster, with updated firmware. I'd expect to pay the same, if not more, for new technology. Intel SSDs have a large price premium as it is, so if you're looking for savings you'll have to look elsewhere (OCZ, Gskill, etc)...

Has it not crossed your mind that all SSD's are overpriced.
And also did it not cross your mind that the doubling of NAND capacities might lead to lower £/GB.

If the link to the store listing in Greece is accurate (in EUROS) for launch price, then no, the prices would be about the same as the X25-M are now.

They are NOT out - The first website (in german) says they are not in stock & time of delivery is not known - It just mean Intel released the thing, but there is no availability..... Second link says basicly the same: Not avaliable....

    Correct.
Looks like these websites made some webpages live before the authorized date and time.
