    UPDATE:

Kingston will not get anymore of this ram in until Aug 1, 2009. So that means you can't get a rma replacement but they do offer a full refund since they know they are out. So either send them back to where you bought them from, if you want another kit....or get a full refund if you so choose.

Wish Corsair would do this too, I really don't want to deal with this RAM anymore :/

That's pretty standup thing to do What about everyone that already bought the ram though? I guess they can't please everyone but it's been a bunch of money wasted in shipping back RMA's and time + inconvenience. I'd say i've probably used the ram a total of about 3 weeks out of the 2 months i've owned it

Still it's great that they are finally admitting there is a problem and doing something about it at least, maybe they will compensate customers that have been through 3+ RMA's somehow once they resolve the issue

It's true i'm sure certain companies I've dealt with before would be trying to lay the blame on me and act like they are doing me a favor by charging me money to fix the problem ***cough***evga***cough*** LOL sorry I couldn't resist

It's refreshing to see a company own up to thier problems and not try to lay the blame on the end user, have to appluad them for that, very respectable.

I just hope there is more Elpida around for OCZ, I'd love another 4GB this PC9600LV stuff

Has been running solid here since it came out for me at any rate.

Have Hyper-Pi'd, Linpacked and Primed em a lot now for over a month, sure people aren't getting a bit froggy with the voltages ?

My LV's have been running just great, I've had em up to 1.9 once or twice for short periods but doesn't seem necessary.

Been testing em quite a bit over a month now, had them running pretty stable at 1248 for awhile here at 1.86V @ 3.75Ghz, but was just trying things out myself.

I put em back to 1200 @ 1.84V and 4.05 on the Q9650 and runs all Prime95 tortures solid here now that I've tweaked em a bit.

Just finding the LV's atm seems to be a problem, least the 9600's. Haven't seen em on the Egg at any rate since I snagged these or woulda gotten another 4G by now myself.

I guess looking at this more a DDR3 thread probably, I was just curious because I saw Elpida.

so much for suggestions of people posting here killed their mem with high vdimm and not cooling it properly

since corsair is even recalling shop inventory, im pretty sure elpida is offering a refund for their latest batches... i doubt corsair would recall their stock if they dont get any money for it from elpida... or maybe they stopped buying elpida chips and need the shop inventory to cover rmas in the near future

im curious though, what will corsair elpida hyper modules be replaced with?
other elpida hyper modules? or samsung based modules? or will they get a refund?

I think some will wait to hear back from Elpida on wheter or not it is 'fixed' before pulling inventory. Some of the other companies are on red alert and are honoring their warranties on failures. Elpida are tight lipped thus far to us..

yes, elpida is very tight lipped and wont admit something is wrong until they know you know...

i dont know how big the failure and rma rates are for the vendors, but for some shops they are around 50%... thats insane...
i dont understand how it took so long and how some dram vendors still didnt react, theres no better way to ruin your business than sending out known to fail equippment...
you lose customers, and you possibly lose shops and distries, and you lose money on every rma...

Did I mension that my SECOND chip died too?....
Worked in dual channel with the LN2 pot on the cpu filled with water (no LN2) - so acctualy the cpu on air) for some tests.....
It worked at ~800MHz with Cas 7-7-6-20 at ONLY 1.65Volts REAL....
After some testings/reboots, the mobo didn't powered up again...
Tested each one of the sticks, I found out that my second stick was dead too....
So TWO out of three sticks are dead...

Corsair is doing the right thing IMHO, though I am hoping for a "quick" solution for all of those enthusiasts out there as currently there's appeared nothing comparable at the memory horizon...

likely to be replaced with new elpida BBSE, the my only question is, how many time is the life of this chip with high frequency & voltage?

hopefully not to do another time MemoryLife tester for them.......

damn... i didnt even know one of the sticks died... so 2 out of 3 are dead after only what, 2 weeks?

damn man... and this wasnt a sample but you bought it, that really sucks

yes, lets hope that elpida and the memory vendors do some better lifetime testing... although im sure they will all jump at breaking each others speed records once again with the latest chip, regardless of how long the sticks might actually work at that speed/voltage...

well, as long as the rma works fast, thats nothing we really need to worry about
though for 24/7 usage id HIGHLY recommend everybody to look for other memory than elpida
