YZjon, I think your question deserves its own thread, you will probably get more answers as well, but since you post it here I will try to help you out .
If I am not mistaken, your motherboard has a Nvidia 680 chipset, I really have no clue how far you can go with a quad and that chipset (check out the Asus Striker thread here).
Give it a try in 400 fsb with your cpu multi at 6x and your memory in 1:1 ratio (your RAM/CPU should do this just fine) and test stability mainly focus in your motherboard (prime blend test), if its stable then set your cpu multi to 8.5 and try some prime small ffts.
That would be 3400 mhz, for a start I think is pretty good.
