The only thing I can think of was the XP (better then my W7 run) I didn't do anything different. Same config but with fresh XP install and defraged.
Tried another 30+ combinations, now at the following:
cpu
vcore 1.375
term 1.32
pll 1.5
ref .891
mch
core 1.38
ref .836
higher cpu ref seems to help to a point, and lower mch ref does too. tried 1.28-1.36 term, 1.32 seems most stable of all
not the fastest super p'is, but at least passes one round of intel burn.
suggestions?

If you have your quad in can you run another? Are they that much faster than duo's? I can get 9.234 but it is not very close to 4900.

You guys have some really nice chipsand those Super Pi runs are awesome
, I get somewhat envious cause my chip do only ~4,7GHz
and 1M @ 9,750.

you would ruin your board

Chill hank123, just because he didn´t answer your PM don´t make him a bad guy, maybe he´s occupied by a lot of work or are on a holiday or maybe he has a policy to never answer on PM, just answer questions in threads, maybe we never gonna know but either way, in my opinion we have to respect what ever.
BTW, how is your progress with the EP45T? I´m back with me RE and are determent to make my 2x2 Transcend to work @ 1800C8

Nobody said it would be easy. Sometimes is just a combination of MHZ and Timings that the hardware will shine, that's when less is more on those benches. But there is no manual in how to achieve that, only sweating.
Well I ca't run the Q9650 right now, my UD3P is on RMA so it has to wait. Summer ruined my Cryo-Z runs :-( Too much humidity.
I run other SuperPi's back then an always close to 9.2. Now I want to get 9.1!Maybe with the Extreme, this board is better the UD3P especially on 32m runs my best on UD3P was 9m.50s and Extreme did it in 9m.35s...

Lol CooP you're so competitive
Well I don't have anything to show really, all I know I post and help others, there is no need for me to play games or hide things.
I lost my best 32m run SS but I have the half pic and I can assure you it's for real:
I will redo some runs with the EP45-Extreme soon.
[QUOTE=Jor3lBR;3887279]Lol CooP you're so competitive"
I wish I was. Just something about suggesting that 9.2@4900 is "normal" or even 5000 for that matter. It seems a bit of a stretch. I could not even find one close. Anywhere.
"Well I don't have anything to show really, all I know I post and help others,"
I know you do. I've learned from what you have shared too.
"there is no need for me to play games or hide things."
I'm not saying that you are. I think that 1m ran in 9.219sec though is hard to believe. If someone can back it up please pm me as to what it takes. Just a question, is it possible that you were clocking up to do some runs, then came back down and in the elation of such a great run, did the screen? (I actually don't even know if that is possible) Honest mistake if so. Also, great 32m at 4860. That is easily recognized. peace.

Hi guys
I could do with some help please to get my Q9650 above 4.35GHz please

Channel B Ref: 1.25000V
I've got 2 x 1GB Team Xtreem PC2-10400 and that has passed 1000% HCI Memtest so I know that is alright.
The above settings are blending at the moment in Prime 95 and so far, so good.
The CPU is watercooled and is hitting the mid 70s on P95 Small FFT's with 1.4625V set in the BIOS.
The first concern is that the CPU seems to need too much VCore for some reason. It has a VID of 1.22500.
I was running this CPU in my MFII before and could get 9 * 480 at about 1.40V actual, but on the UD3P, I need to set at least 1.4625V with Load Line Calibration enabled.
Secondly, anything above around 4.35GHz, and one core immediately fails on Small FFT's and same on Blend.
I've had the UD3P for a week and have gone through this wonderful thread and followed many templates and played with all manner of CPU and MCH refs, I've tried the stock 9x multiplier too which has the same results and I've played with the straps too.
Any input would be wonderful as to whether I can push this CPU further as I know that 4.5GHz should be easy if I can work out why the CPU is wanting so much VCore.
I don't know if the CPU just gives up after 4.35 GHz as even dropping the multiplier doesn't seem to get past that wall. I know the board is good up to past 513FSB so everything is pointing to the CPU or something I am not setting correctly.
If I play with the CPU or MCH refs, I get 0x000000124 BSODs, total system freezes when Prime Blending or immediate failures in P95. I've lowered VTT and it hasn't made any difference and the same goes for higher PLL and raising/lowering VMCH.
Cheers guys![]()

Hey Krich, I'll see if I can give you a hand. First, I don't have a Quad so your ahead of me there. I can give you a couple suggestions you can see if they help or not. Until you get some stability at the higher speed set the ram timing to 5/5/5/15. Change it back later. The vdimm seems a bit high as well. I know that is good ram but I don't know if it needs that much esp. at this speed. For 1.4vtt, your mch ref seems high also. By a fair amount. Have you tried increasing the PLL to 1.57v when you try to boot at 4.3 or above? All these things on mine need to be "together". It takes some time but when you get things closer maybe you can get a bit lower vcore. Maybe someone with a Quad can help with your mch core or something relating to what I mentioned.

KRich,
My xeon has the same 1.225 vid so give these settings a try. I ran a quick prime to check these settings and had no errors. Also what kind of water cooling do you have, those temps seems pretty high for water with that voltage. Mine with 1.4625 bios only comes up to 60c under small fft with 25c ambient.

nothing. I tried for hours to get anything to post. even using easy tune i cant get ram speeds up very high. I thing the highest I got to post and go into windows was around 1648mhz. And this is on good ram that is rated at 1600Mhz 7-7-7-18 @1.9V On the bugged 3;5 divider I think i can go higher but its just total junk so no point in trying.
I think a new bios will come out. It might do the trick.
Oh and I think we might see a new bios (this week...maybe) soon. We will find out
